To provide a simple-structured chain guide with improved durability and capable of preventing detachment or breakage of a supplementary member and of reliably reducing vibration and noise. The chain guide includes a supplementary member made of a different material from a guide body. The supplementary member is configured to have an engaging hole, which allows attachment of the supplementary member to a side face of a support wall part provided between a guide part and a base part of the guide body.

Chain guide

In a sprocket including a cushion ring coming into contact with link plates of a chain, the cushion ring includes, on an outer circumferential surface, a plurality of convex sections coming into contact with the link plates, and the plurality of convex sections are provided at corresponding positions to tooth tips at identical pitches to a plurality of teeth and include convex sections having different shapes.

Sprocket

The problem to be solved is to provide a tensioner lever that inhibits friction-induced wear or seizure on a surface of a pivoting support boss contacting a shoulder bolt so that high durability is achieved, and that is easily producible and enables cost reduction. As a solution to the problem noted above, the tensioner lever includes a shoe having a traveling surface, a lever body, and a pivotal support boss provided at a proximal end of the lever body to allow a distal end thereof to swing. The shoe and the lever body are integrally formed and assembled together by double injection molding. The lever body includes a slide bearing member, and a connecting part that connects the slide bearing member and the shoe. The slide bearing member, the connecting part, and the shoe are made of the same synthetic resin, and configured as a continuous one-piece component.

Tensioner lever

An object of the present invention is to provide a chain guide that eliminates the burden of assembling a guide shoe and a base member together, and prevents the guide shoe from being limited in its movement in the longitudinal guiding direction relative to the base member to improve durability. The guide shoe and the base member of the chain guide according to the invention are united by being integrally molded. The chain guide includes a fixed engaging part where the guide shoe engages with the base member such that the guide shoe is restricted from moving in the longitudinal guiding direction relative to the base member, and a movable engaging part where the guide shoe engages with the base member such that the guide shoe is slidable relative to the base member. A molding gate mark is positioned at or near the fixed engaging part.

An object of the present invention is to provide a chain drive system that can reduce sliding resistance between a chain and a guide shoe, minimize increase of sliding resistance over time, and reduce production cost. Provided is a chain drive systemincluding a plurality of sprocketsandover which a chainpasses over, and one or more guidesandthat guide the chain. The guidesandinclude integral or separate guide shoesandeach having a chain running surface. The chain running surfaces include, in part thereof, a lubricated areawhere a solid lubricant P is held.

Chain drive system

To provide a chain guide that implements stable running of a chain, causes less wear or damage on the inner surface of mounting holes or on mounting shafts, and improves the durability of a reinforcing plate thereof without increasing production cost. A guide shoe includes a guide rail and a plate holding part accommodating a reinforcing plate inserted thereinto from the backside of the guide rail. The reinforcing plate includes a tubular part integral with a first plate surface and protruding from the edge of a mounting hole that extends through the reinforcing plate in a guide width direction. In the chain guide, a plurality of surface irregular parts are provided on a peripheral outer side of the tubular part in stripes along a plurality of imaginary circles concentric to the tubular part on at least one of the first plate surface and a second plate surface.

A chain guide is provided in which durability is increased, weight can be reduced, material cost is reduced, the uniformity of resin orientation is improved, dimensional errors, errors in shape, internal strains, and defects are reduced, and bending rigidity such as rigidity against deflection and torsion is augmented with a simple configuration. The chain guide is provided with reinforcing ribs at a guide main body. The reinforcing ribs include first inclined reinforcing ribs and second inclined reinforcing ribs that cross each other. A zone in which the reinforcing ribs are not present is provided in the intermediate portion between two support porting.

A ratchet-type tensioner, comprising: a housing; a plunger supported by the housing for movement in opposite advancing and setback directions, the plunger having rack teeth provided thereon, and being arranged to advance with respect to the housing along the advancing direction for applying tension to a traveling transmission medium engaged with rotating members; and a ratchet mechanism capable of restricting the plunger from setting back due to a reaction force acting in a setback direction from the transmission medium; said ratchet mechanism comprising: a ratchet-receiving hole provided within the housing; a ratchet element slidable in the ratchet-receiving hole and movable in a sliding direction transverse to the advancing and setback directions; ratchet teeth on the ratchet element engageable with the rack teeth of the plunger; and a ratchet-biasing means for biasing the ratchet element in an engaging direction along the sliding direction so that the ratchet teeth engage with the rack teeth; said ratchet mechanism being capable of restricting the plunger from being set back by a reaction force acting in a setback direction from the transmission medium; said rack teeth having a concave-convex form and being composed of stop surfaces facing in the setback direction and sliding surfaces facing in the advance direction, said sliding surfaces being inclined relative to the sliding direction and facing in a disengaging direction opposite from the engaging direction; each of said sliding surfaces having an entry starting location which the ratchet teeth first engage when starting to enter the rack teeth, and an entry ending location where the engagement of the ratchet teeth with the rack teeth ends; each said sliding surface being a curved surface, all of said curved surface, between said entry starting location and said entry ending location of said sliding surface, bulging in the advancing direction of the plunger and in the disengaging direction of the ratchet element from an imaginary reference plane intersecting said entry starting location and said entry ending location of said sliding surface and perpendicular to another imaginary plane to which the advancing and setback direction of the plunger and the sliding direction of the ratchet element are parallel; and at least a part of said curve midway along said curve between the entry starting location and the entry ending location is convex.

Ratchet-type tensioner

A transmission guide comprises a synthetic resin shoe supported by and integrally molded with a synthetic resin base by two-part molding. A guide length retaining mechanism, which can be formed by one or more protrusions on the back of the shoe and one or more cooperating recesses on the supporting surface of the base, retains the shoe against longitudinal movement relative to the base. A guide width retaining mechanism, which can be formed by projections on the edges of the shoe and cooperating holes formed in side walls extending from the supporting surface of the base, retains the shoe against widthwise movement relative to the base.

Transmission guide

The synthetic resin guide in accordance with the invention comprises an elongated synthetic resin shoe having a front surface for sliding contact with the transmission medium and a back surface opposite from the front surface and a plurality of engaging members disposed in longitudinally spaced relationship to one another. The guide also comprises an elongated synthetic resin base in contact with the back surface of the shoe and supporting the shoe, the base having a plurality of longitudinally spaced engaged portions each of which engages with one of the engaging members. One engaging member is fixed to the engaged portion with which it is engaged. The other engaging members are longitudinally movable relative to the engaged portions with which they are engaged. Thus, the guide allows longitudinal thermal expansion and contraction of the shoe relative to the base.

A transmission guide comprises a synthetic resin shoe and a more rigid synthetic resin base, integrally molded by two-member molding. The base is formed with a pair of spaced, opposed, side walls extending in the direction of elongation of the base along opposite edges of a shoe-supporting surface of the base. These side walls engage respective side edges of the shoe, and extend past the front surface of the shoe so that they can restrict lateral movement of a transmission chain sliding along the front surface of the shoe. Indentations in the side walls receive protrusions formed on the edges of the shoe. Edges of the openings of the indentations are chamfered or convexly curved to avoid interference with the movement of the chain along the guide.

In a transmission guide, a synthetic resin shoe and a synthetic resin base are integrally molded by two part molding. Strips projecting from a supporting surface of the base extend in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the base, and concave grooves formed in the shoe, which also extend in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the base and of the shoe, receive the strips of the base and are fused with the base.

In a chain guide mechanism having a guide bridge for integrally holding two chain guides, a chain and a driving sprocket for more efficient assembly and maintenance, the guide bridge has a oil inlet on a surface of its sprocket-pressing base for receiving oil from an oil supply port in an engine block on which the guide bridge is mounted. The oil inlet communicates, through an internal passage within the base of the guide bridge, with an oil discharge port within a groove in which teeth of the driving sprocket travel.

Chain guide mechanism

In a chain guide mechanism in which a pair of chain guides, at least one of which is a pivoted guide, are connected by mounting bosses a bridge so that the chain guides and bridge can be preassembled along with a chain and driving sprocket to form an integrated unit for installation in an engine, the chain guides include a chain-engaging guiding surface extending in a first direction from a location adjacent the mounting bosses, and a chain pressing portion extending in a second direction, opposite the first direction, substantially from the same location adjacent the mounting bosses. The pressing surfaces clamp the chain against the sprocket when a pivotable chain guide is rotated so that its chain engaging surface is moved away from the chain.

In a chain guide mechanism, fixed and movable guides are attached to a guide bridge by cooperation of bosses on the guides with boss-receiving holes formed in spaced-apart elements of arms of the bridge. A fixed guide is held against rotation by cooperation of a projection on its mounting boss with a notch in a boss-receiving hole in a guide bridge arm element. A base, extending from an intermediate location at which the arms come together has a pressing structure that engages bosses on a driving sprocket, and a groove for receiving teeth of the driving sprocket.
