An antenna feed network includes a septum polarizer including a waveguide defining a cavity, wherein a septum is disposed in the cavity to divide the cavity to form a first port and as second port, a diplexer in signal communication with at least one of the first port and the second port of the septum polarizer to route a signal based upon a frequency, and a wave coupler/splitter in signal communication with the diplexer to send and receive signals therebetween, the wave coupler/splitter including a first signal path and a second signal path, wherein the wave coupler/splitter controls a phase shift of a signal transmitted through at least one of the first signal path and the second signal path.

Antenna feed network to produce both linear and circular polarizations

A composite polarizer including a first polarizer having a plurality of parallel metal vanes and a second polarizer having a plurality of parallel layers of dielectric material is provided. The first polarizer is disposed on an axis, and has a phase advance orientation orthogonal to the axis. The second polarizer is disposed on the axis and has a phase advance orientation orthogonal to the axis. The first polarizer has a first differential phase shift for a first frequency fand a second differential phase shift for a second frequency f. The second polarizer has a first differential phase shift for the first frequency fand a second differential phase shift for the second frequency f. A total of the first differential phase shifts of the first and second polarizers is about 90&#xb0;, and a total of the second differential phase shifts of the first and second polarizers is about 90&#xb0;.

Wideband composite polarizer and antenna system

A helix radiating element is disclosed. The helix radiating element includes a support, a base and a helix wire. The support is made up of a dielectric material including a PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) material. The base is coupled to the support and is made up of boron nitride. The helix wire is configured to be wrapped around the support and bonded to the base. The base is coupled to a ground plane. A boron nitride filled adhesive is used to bond the support to the base and bond the helix wire to the base. The boron nitride filled adhesive is also used to bond the base to the ground plane. Heat generated in the helix wire is transferred to the ground plane via the base.

Helix radiating elements for high power applications

A tunable RF cavity resonator having reduced generation of passive inter-modulation, the tunable RF cavity resonator including a cavity body, a fixed tuning post at a first end of the cavity body, a dielectric rod in the fixed tuning post interior space with a first spatial gap between the dielectric rod outer surface and the fixed tuning post inner wall, a tuning screw connected to a first end of the dielectric rod, and a tuning element disposed on a second end of the dielectric rod so that the tuning element moves within the interior space of the fixed tuning post while maintaining a second spatial gap between the tuning element outer surface and the fixed tuning post inner wall. Accordingly, the tuning element forms a short section of very low RF impedance transmission line thereby preventing RF signal leakage through the interior space of the fixed tuning post.

RF cavity resonator with low passive inter-modulation tuning element

A phase error adjustment device configured to connect to an end of a waveguide polarizer and correct phase errors that the waveguide polarizer might generate. In accordance with this embodiment, the phase error adjustment device comprises an aperture having a height and a width, and changes in the dimension of the height or width will change the phase error adjustment quantity. In accordance with another embodiment of the invention, the phase error adjustment device comprises a thickness, and changes in the thickness will change the phase error adjustment quantity.
