An end winding support of a rotor of an electric machine is provided. The end winding support includes a first part and a second part. The first part includes an elongate body about which a conductive winding is wound. The elongate body has a surface defining a first groove. The second part is attached to the first part. The second part includes a body which extends outwardly from the elongate body and which has a surface defining a second groove corresponding to the first groove.

Two-piece end turn winding support

A generator rotor assembly can include a diode holder configured to hold one or more diodes. The diode holder can be formed of a first material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). The assembly can include a rotor housing configured to hold the diode holder within the rotor housing. The rotor housing can be formed of a second material having a second CTE. The second CTE is different than the first CTE. The assembly can include one or more CTE compensation spacers interfacing the diode holder to the rotor housing such that the diode holder and the rotor housing are connected via the one or more CTE compensation spacers. The one or more CTE compensation spacers can be configured to have a third CTE different than the first CTE and the second CTE to compensate for relative length change between the diode holder and the rotor housing to prevent and/or reduce temperature induced stress growth at the interface of the diode holder and the rotor housing.

Generator rotor assemblies

A symmetric governor spring includes a first ring and a second ring coaxial with the first ring. The symmetric governor spring also includes two or more inclined braces connecting the first ring to the second ring. The first ring, the second ring, and the two or more inclined braces are integrally formed.

A strut system for a RAT includes a strut body, a strut first end is connected to the aircraft and rotate about a first axis, a strut second end is spaced apart from the strut first end by the strut body and is connected to the RAT turbine generator unit, the strut has a strut conduit extending from the strut first end toward the strut second end; and a damper rod that includes a rod body and disposed within the strut conduit, the damper rod having a rod first end that is fixed within the strut conduit at the strut first end, and a rod second end that is spaced apart from the rod first end by the rod body and is located intermediate the strut first end and the strut second end, wherein the rod second end moves along a second axis that is parallel to the first axis.

A mounting frame for a ram air turbine includes a front support block having a top side opposite a bottom side. A rear support block is disposed opposite the front support block, the rear support block also having a top side, and a bottom side. A top plate extends between the front support block and the rear support block, the top plate having a forward end connected to the front support block proximate the top side of the front support block, an aft end connected to the rear support block proximate the top side of the rear support block. A bottom plate extends between the front support and the rear support opposite the top plate.

Rat frame for a soft aircraft interface

A ram air turbine (RAT) mounting system includes a frame with a forward end having a first side, a second side disposed opposite the first side, a third side, and a fourth side disposed opposite the third side. The frame also includes an aft end. A first mounting element is connected to the forward end of the frame proximate the first side and the third side. A second mounting element is connected to the forward end of the frame proximate the first side and the fourth side. A first rod is connected to the forward end of the frame proximate the second side and the third side. A second rod is connected to the aft end of the frame.

Rat mounting arrangement for a soft aircraft interface

An example ram air turbine generator assembly includes a generator housing that holds a generator in axial alignment with a hydraulic pump. The generator housing includes a wall having contacting portions that contact a stator of the generator and spaced portions that are radially spaced from the stator. The generator wall is designed to be strong enough to withstand HLSD and windmilling vibrations, while flexible enough to accommodate thermal expansion.

Ram air turbine generator housing

A ram air turbine assembly is provided including a release cable coupled at a first end to a turbine release pin and coupled at a second end to a release lever. Aluminum tubing surrounds a portion of the release cable. An upper cable bracket supports the aluminum tubing adjacent the first end of the release cable. A lower cable bracket supports the aluminum tubing adjacent the second end of the release cable. The lower cable bracket includes a threaded bushing having an axial bore for receiving the release cable. The threaded bushing is in direct contact with an end fitting coupled to the aluminum tubing.
