In an Internet telephone connection method, a communication bandwidth is managed by using a bandwidth controller, gateway devices and voice relay routers to monitor communication quality under bandwidth reservation. A communication path under bandwidth reservation is preferentially selected by using gate keepers and the voice relay routers, and the connection of the Internet telephone is performed. A problematic device is prohibited from being selected as a connection-destination device at the time of a call setup and the problem restoration is monitored by using the gate keepers and the gateway devices. Further, a device having invalid attribute information is prohibited from being selected as a connection-destination device at the time of call-setup, and the restoration of the attribute information is notified to the overall network. Accordingly, the reservation of the communication bandwidth can be performed under the control of the overall network, fixed communication quality can be maintained and reliability can be enhanced.

Internet telephone connection method, bandwidth controller and gate keeper

A service system in which a server offers a service in response to a request from a client. The system can offer the stable service even in the case of an access from the client and also can offer a preferential service under certain conditions. The request from the client to the server is carried out via a data communication forwarding apparatus, the apparatus has a unit for queuing the request with a priority and has a unit for changing the forwarding sequence of the request according to the priority. Thereby the number of simultaneous requests to the server can be suppressed to within the processing ability of the server with the stable service. Further, the request can be preferentially processed according to the user, transaction, wait time, etc.

Data communication system using priority queues with wait count information for determining whether to provide services to client requests

A multiplexed communication system for automatically setting up a multiplexed call circuit between exchanges upon occurrence of a call only when the multiplexed call circuit is required while otherwise releasing the multiplexed call circuit. The multiplexed communication system includes a plurality of exchanges, each of which includes multiplexing/demultiplexing apparatus for compressing and multiplexing data inputted from first input/output to thereby output the compressed and multiplexed data to second input/output ports and for demultiplexing and expanding data inputted from the second input/output to thereby output the demultiplexed and expanded data to the first input/output port, control information messaging apparatus for messaging control information, first detection apparatus for detecting occurrence of a compressible call, and second detection apparatus for detecting that all the calls connected to the first input/output ports have been released. Upon detection of the compressible call by the first detection apparatus, a circuit is set up between the exchanges through the multiplexing/demultiplexing apparatus while the control information is transferred between the exchanges through the call control information messaging means, to thereby connect the call to the first input/output ports between the exchanges. When it is detected that all the calls connected to the first input/output ports have been released, the circuit between the exchanges is released.

System for multiplexed communication between exchanges

A transmission procedure selecting system in a data communication network system which includes a plurality of terminals, an ISDN switching network which exchanges a plurality of circuit lines with the plurality of terminals, a communication control device connected with the ISDN switching network via a multiplexed interface for providing transmission control for data transmitted through the interface, the communication control device including a plurality of transmission control circuits connected with respective data channels in the multiplexed interface, and a central processing unit connected to the communication control device. The process comprises a step that prior to transmission of data from a terminal to the central processing unit, said terminal transmits a call setup signal which designates the transmission control procedure adaptive to said terminal via a control channel of the multiplexed interface; a step that the central processing unit selects a transmission control circuit designated by the transmission control procedure in the call setup signal received via the control channel; and a step that the central processing unit transmits to the ISDN switching network via the control channel of the multiplexed interface a request for connection of the terminal and the data channel connected to the selected transmission control circuit.
