Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An encoding device may obtain a first set of coded bits by encoding multiple sets of information bits in accordance with a parallel encoding scheme. The encoding device may obtain a second set of coded bits by using some or all of the first set of coded bits to encode a second set of information bits in accordance with a concatenated encoding scheme. The encoding device may map at least the second set of coded bits to different layers of a constellation based on a first priority associated with the first set of coded bits and a second priority associated with the second set of coded bits. Accordingly, the encoding device may transmit a signal associated with the second set of coded bits based on modulating the signal in accordance with the mapping.

Enhanced bit mapping and encoding schemes

This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for forward error correction encoding and modulation with reliability differentiation. In some examples, a transmitting wireless communication device may use a concatenated encoding technique to generate a set of encoded bits that conveys both information bits of a first priority and information bits of a second priority lower than the first priority. In other examples, the transmitting device may use a parallel encoding technique to generate a first set of encoded bits that conveys information bits of the first priority and a second set of encoded bits that conveys information bits of the second priority. According to aspects of the disclosure, the transmitting device can map encoded bits corresponding to information bits of the first priority to relatively higher reliability bit positions of a modulation constellation.

Forward error correction encoding with reliability differentiation

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for wireless communications over a 320 MHz bandwidth. Some implementations more specifically relate to signaling techniques for indicating the bandwidth of a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) transmitted in a secondary 160 MHz channel of the 320 MHz bandwidth. In some implementations, an access point (AP) may transmit an aggregated PPDU (A-PPDU) that includes a first sub-PPDU transmitted within a primary 160 MHz channel and a second sub-PPDU transmitted within a secondary 160 MHz channel. In such implementations, the first sub-PPDU may carry bandwidth information indicating the bandwidth of the first sub-PPDU within the primary 160 MHz channel and the second sub-PPDU may carry bandwidth information indicating the 320 MHz bandwidth.

Various aspects relate generally to the generation and wireless transmission of a long training field (LTF) and a data field within a 320 MHz or 240 MHz bandwidth channel. The LTF includes an LTF sequence based on a concatenation of a plurality of LTF subsequences, each LTF subsequence being associated with a channel bandwidth less than the total bandwidth of the channel, each of the plurality of LTF subsequences being selectively phase-rotated to reduce a peak-to-average power ratio. Each of the plurality of LTF subsequences may be associated with an LTF designed for an 80 MHz bandwidth channel. The LTF and the data field may then be transmitted in a wireless packet to at least one second wireless communication device via the 320 MHz or 240 MHz bandwidth channel.

Long training field with reduced peak-to-average power ratio

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to tone mapping techniques and packet designs that support duplicate (or 'DUP mode') transmissions to multiple users. In some implementations, an access point (AP) may transmit a PPDU that includes first user data and second user data, where at least the first user data is transmitted in a DUP mode. As such, the first user data may be mapped to a number (N) of tones spanning a first RU in accordance with a dual carrier modulation (DCM) scheme, and a duplicate copy of the first user data may be mapped to N tones spanning a second RU in accordance with the DCM scheme. In some implementations, the second user data also may be transmitted in a DUP mode.

Multi-user duplicate transmission

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device, such as a wireless station (STA) or a wireless access point (AP), performs a low-density parity check (LDPC) coding operation on input bits of a set of code blocks. Performing the LDPC coding operation on the input bits produces a set of codewords including one or more codewords having a first codeword length and one or more codewords having a second, shorter codeword length. The first wireless device arranges the set of codewords into a set of symbols such that a last symbol in time of the set of symbols includes the one or more codewords each having the second codeword length and no codewords having the first codeword length. The first wireless device, transmits, to a second wireless device, the plurality of symbols.

Techniques for generating and using longer low-density parity check codewords

This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for low-density parity check (LDPC) coding. Some aspects more specifically relate to extending LDPC codewords to produce longer codewords. In some examples, a first wireless device may generate a baseline LDPC code by performing a first lifting on a base matrix, which may produce an LDPC code used for a current Wi-Fi implementation. The first wireless device may then perform a second lifting or a re-lifting (such as a cyclic lifting, a product lifting, a swapping lifting, or a combination thereof) to generate an extended lifted code. This extended lifted code may be an extension of the first LDPC code such that the first LDPC code may be preserved as part of the extended code. Then first wireless device may then transmit the extended LDPC code as an extended or lifted codeword.

Extending low-density parity check (LDPC) codes for Wi-Fi

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for improving wireless communications in power spectral density (PSD)-limited frequency bands. A wireless communication device, having a number (N) of transmit antennas, parses a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) into a number (N) of spatial streams and modulates the Nspatial streams on a number (M) of subcarriers. In some implementations, the wireless communication device may transmit the PPDU using a number (N) of the transmit antennas, where N≤N<N. In some other implementations, the wireless communication device may subdivide the M subcarriers into subcarrier groups and may transmit each subcarrier group using a respective subset of the Ntransmit antennas, where the number of transmit antennas used to transmit each subcarrier group is greater than or equal to the number of spatial streams modulated on the subcarriers in the group but less than N.

Antenna switching in frequency bands with power spectral density (PDS) limits

Duplicated physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) transmission is described for a wireless device with reduced peak-to-average power ratios (PAPR). One example includes obtaining a first sub-PPDU from to PPDU that includes a data field with data content. A second sub-PPDU may also be obtained by duplicating the PPDU including the data content of the PPDU. At least one of a phase rotation, a phase offset, or a phase ramp is applied to at least a portion of a second set of sub-carrier of a wideband channel. The first sub-PPDU is transmitted on a first set of sub-carriers of the wideband channel and the second sub-PPDU is transmitted on the second set of sub-carriers of the wideband channel.

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to tone mapping techniques and physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) designs that support duplicate (or 'DUP mode') transmissions with channel puncturing. In some implementations, a wireless communication device may transmit a PPDU carrying user data over a wireless channel excluding one or more punctured subchannels, where the user data is transmitted in a DUP mode. As such, the user data may be mapped to a number (N) of tones spanning a first portion of the wireless channel and a duplicate copy of the user data may be mapped to N tones spanning a second portion of the wireless channel.
