Each protrusion () of a first electrode () is formed to have a long plate-like shape extending across a plurality of grid holes () of the first electrode (). Each grid hole () of a second electrode () is formed to have an elongate shape extending to conform to each corresponding one of the protrusions () of the first electrode (). Protrusions () of the second electrode () are arranged in the longitudinal direction at end portions () on the long sides of the respective grid holes () of the second electrode (), so as to conform to the grid holes () of the first electrode ().

Dust collector

Disclosed is a dust collector () that is disposed in an air passageway () to which water droplets () are supplied, and that includes a dust collecting electrode portion () which electrically attracts dust charged in the air. The dust collecting electrode portion () is made of a plate-like member having a mesh-like structure with a plurality of pores, thereby reducing an interfacial tension between the water droplets () adhering on the surface of the dust collecting electrode portion () and the dust collecting electrode portion (). Thus, water droplets are prevented from increasing in size on the surface of a dust collecting electrode, and a decrease in the dust collection capability due to adhesion of dust or the like is reduced.

An air handling device () includes an air flow path () in which a charge section () for charging dust in an air to be handled, and a precipitator () for collecting the charged dust are placed. The charge section () includes a discharge electrode () and a counter electrode () to perform diffusion charging. A diffusion space () is provided at a location between the charge section () and the precipitator ().

Air handling device

The present invention relates to a charging device having a charge section () for charging a floating particle in an air to be handled, and an air handling device (an air cleaning device) having the charging device. The charge section () is constituted by a first charge section () adopting an impact charging technique and a second charge section () adopting a diffusion charging technique. With this structure, charging and collection of dust can be accomplished only in the casing of the device, and therefore, an increase in size of the device can be avoided.

Charging device, air handling device, method for charging, and method for handling air

An air processing device is provided by which a current-carrying section is attached to a casing by an insulating member having a covering section covering an outer periphery face of a current-carrying section and a tube-like section in which a power source-side end of the covering section is supported by a tube bottom section. This consequently secures a long insulating distance from an electric discharge spray section and a charged dust collecting section via the current-carrying section to the casing. As a result, the respective electrodes and the casing can have an improved insulating performance therebetween even under an environment where water droplets are supplied.

Air processing device

A dust collector includes a charging part () for charging dust with electricity and a dust collecting part (). Each of a dust collecting electrode () and a high-voltage electrode () that constitute the dust collecting part () includes: a base () with a rectangular grid structure having a large number of vent holes () formed therein; and projections () extending into the vent holes () of the opposed electrode (). The dust collector collects dust by generating an electric field between the dust collecting electrode () and the high-voltage electrode ().

In a discharge device for performing streamer discharge between a discharge electrode () including a plurality of discharge parts () and a counter electrode () including a plurality of counter parts () confronting the discharge parts (), a resistor () is provided in a current carrying path between power source means () and the discharge parts ().

Discharge device and air purifier

A discharge unit () and a heat exchanger () are disposed in an air passageway (). In the discharge unit (), a rod-like discharge electrode () and a plate-like counter electrode () are disposed perpendicular to the flow of air, and lie along the heat exchanger (). Upon application of voltage to both the electrodes (), streamer discharge is performed between the electrodes (), whereby an active species capable of decomposition of a component to be processed is produced.

Air conditioner

The frequency of a cyclically varying voltage, (fv), is made equal to or higher than the frequency of a streamer discharge, (fs), thereby making it possible to reduce the discharge delay time which is caused in a single streamer discharge.

Discharge device and air purification device

An electric power supply of a discharge device which generates a streamer discharge is provided with a discharge control part. By virtue of the discharge control part, the discharge electric power of the discharge device is increased or decreased depending on the treatment amount of a component to be treated in an air purification device.

Air purification device

In an air purifier including a streamer discharge part () generating plasma by streamer discharge, a catalytic part () promoting the treatment of air using active species contained in the plasma and a dust collecting part () collecting dust in the air, the streamer discharge part (), the dust collecting part () and the catalytic part () are arranged in sequence from the upstream side of the air flow to allow the entire face of the catalytic part () to effectively work and also permit the elimination of fungi and the inactivation of allergens in a dust collecting part ().

Air purifier

A discharge device for generating a streamer discharge includes a discharge electrode and a counter electrode. The discharge electrode is in a shape of a wire or rod and is disposed substantially parallel to the counter electrode. Thus, even when a tip of the discharge electrode becomes worn out, a shape of the tip of the discharge electrode remains unchanged and a distance between the discharge electrode and the counter electrode remains unchanged. As a result, even when the tip of the discharge electrode becomes worn out, the streamer discharge stability will not fall.

Electric discharge device and air purifying device

A gas treating device capable of electrically collecting dust and of decomposing odors and other matter by plasma includes a plasma generating device integrally incorporated into an ionization part in a casing. The ionization part has an ionization line and a columnar portion of a negative electrode member. The plasma generating device includes a discharge electrode which shares a counter electrode with the ionization line. During operation, dust of a relatively small size in room air is electrically charged by discharge between the ionization line and the counter electrode. An electrostatic filter entraps and collects the electrically charged dust. A plasma of low temperature is generated by streamer discharge between the discharge electrode and the counter electrode. Harmful substances and odorous substances in the room air are decomposed by an activated species contained in the generated low-temperature plasma.

Gas treating device

The distance between a discharge electrode and a counter electrode of a discharge device is set to not more than 10 mm such that a streamer discharge is caused between the electrodes. The frequency of sound made by the streamer discharge is raised to 6 kHz or higher to exceed the frequency range which is easily perceivable by human hearing.
