The present invention provides an EGR sensor capable of stably holding the actuating shaft of a product without increasing the length of the actuating shaft in the longitudinal direction and shorting the movable range of the actuating shaft, and capable of preventing water stagnated in the EGR sensor from affecting contacting portions of the conductive parts. The EGR sensor comprises a substrate having a slider and a plurality of external lead-out terminals and electrodes, a bearing having an actuating shaft passing there through, and a casing having a receiving portion for receiving the substrate and the slider. A communicating passage comprising a groove or a hole is provided at the side of the bearing. The communicating passage leads to the insertion hole from the inside of the receiving portion. The moisture stagnated in the receiving portion is drained through the communicating passage to the outside.

EGR sensor with drainage mechanism

An operating shaft is provided in its rear side portion with a convex portion protruding from a shaft portion in the direction orthogonal to an axial direction. A bearing portion is provided with a concave portion connected to a hole through which the shaft portion is inserted and allowing the convex portion to be inserted therethrough in the axial direction. The convex portion protruding from a rear end of the bearing portion is retained to the rear end of the bearing portion other than the concave portion. The operating shaft can be finally assembled. Like a coil spring, a movable member, and a cover, the operating shaft can be assembled in a stacking manner. It is thus possible to provide an EGR sensor which has good productivity and is inexpensive, as compared with a conventional EGR sensor.

Exhaust gas recirculation sensor

A variable resistor for increased assembly efficiency and decreased influence by environmental changes is disclosed. The variable resistor includes a closed end main casing, an external terminal held in the main casing and connected to the insulating substrate, a side receiver movably held in the casing, a shaft for moving the slider receiver, and a cover for closing an opening of the casing. The shaft is supported by a bearing formed on the cover to protrude from the cover and is further provided with a fall-preventive means. The terminal and substrate are both connected on the opening side of the casing.

A sensor comprises a casing closed with a cover having a bearing section; an axially movable operating shaft supported on the bearing section; and a slider receiver in contact with the forward end of the operating shaft within the casing. A first return spring in elastic contact with the operating shaft and the second return spring in elastic contact with the slider receiver are disposed within the casing.

Sensor

A rotary operation type variable resistor including a resistor base and a holder, on which a sliding-element supporting member is rotatably retained, are placed in a case provided with only one opening for component insertion. An operating lever is fixedly connected to a shaft portion of the sliding-element supporting member using a speed nut. A resistor pattern is formed by printing on the resistor base in a positional relationship determined by positioning reference portions formed on the resistor base. Positioning reference portions are also formed on the holder, and positioning portions are formed in the case. A resilient-contact member for bringing the positioning reference portions of each of the resistor base and the holder into contact with the positioning portions of the case is also provided on the case. A lower bearing made of stainless steel and formed by pressing so as to have a cylindrical portion and a flange formed at one end of the cylindrical portion is integrally combined with the holder by insert molding, while an upper bearing is press-fitted to the holder, thereby forming a bearing unit for receiving the shaft portion of the sliding-element supporting member.

Rotary operation type variable resistor

The present invention relates to a rotary type electrical part and particularly to a throttle position sensor used within an automobile. The electrical part comprises a casing having one end thereof defined as an opening face, an attachment hole defined in the other end thereof, and a hollow cylindrical body formed therein which extends at right angles to the side of the casing, the casing further having an air passage which is defined in the side thereof and communicates with a hollow portion of the cylindrical body, a driving shaft having one end projecting from the attachment hole and rotatably mounted within the casing, a sliding-element receive attached to the other end of the driving shaft and rotated in response to the rotation of the driving shaft, an insulating substrate disposed adjacent to the sliding-element receiver in the casing and in an opposing relationship thereto and having a conductive pattern formed on the surface of the insulating substrate, the conductive pattern disposed in an opposing relationship to the sliding-element receiver, sliding elements mounted on the sliding-element receiver in such a manner that the sliding elements are brought into sliding contact with the insulating substrate in a face-to-face manner, and a connector having contacts whose outer side is provided with a sealing member mounted thereon and whose tip portions are received with terminals fixed to the conductive pattern inserted therein. In addition, a cover is fitted onto the opening face of the casing and a filler material is charged into a region between the cover and the inner-wall face of the casing, and an opening face of the cylindrical body is sealed tight with the sealing member after press-fitting of the connector into the cylindrical body.

Sealing structure for electrical parts

A resistor substrate for a variable resistor of the enclosed type which may be employed in a throttle sensor of an automobile. The resistor substrate has a disk portion and a rectangular apron provided at a circumferential portion of the disk portion. The apron is stepped with respect to the disk portion to form a reduced thickness portion, and a plurality of projections each having an arcuate section in a widthwise direction are formed at end portions of the reduced thickness portion of the apron. A plurality of terminals are embedded at base portions thereof in the disk portion and extend along a surface of the reduced thickness portion of the apron. The terminals individually have arcuate protruded portions formed therein in accordance with a configuration of the projections of the apron, and the projections individually have lateral holes formed therein in an opposing relationship to the protruded portions of the terminals such that they extend to the protruded portions. When the resistor substrate is fitted in the casing, the apron of the resistor substrate contacts with a flange portion provided on the casing.
