A hydroxyl terminated copolyester which is basically constituted with ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid is formulated into a heat curable powder coating composition by mixing with specific plural silicone compounds. The resultant paint film is excellent in flatness and free from leveling faults and has superior properties.

A powder coating composition comprising 1. an unsaturated polyester which is prepared by reacting A. terephthalic acid or its lower alkyl ester, and B. an .alpha.-olefinic dicarboxylic acid, and C. optionally an organic acid having at least three carboxy groups in the molecule or its functional derivative, and D. an aliphatic or alicyclic glycol; and 2. an organic peroxide and a molecular terminal cross linking or bridging agent, said powder coating composition being able to form a film having excellent properties, such as excellent gloss, hardness, impact strength, heat resistance, weatherability and corrosion resistance.
