A display device includes a display panel having a first non-folding area, a folding area connected to the first non-folding area, and a second non-folding area spaced apart from the first non-folding area by the folding area. A base member is disposed on the display panel. The base member includes a pattern area including a plurality of concave portions overlapping the folding area. The plurality of concave portions is spaced apart from each other in a first direction and has a depth in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A first filling layer fills the plurality of concave portions. The first filling layer includes at least one material selected from an acrylate, a urethane acrylate, and a silicone resin.

Display device and method of manufacturing the same

A display device includes a folding area foldable about a folding axis and a non-folding area proximate to the folding area. The display device includes a display module that displays an image and a glass window that is disposed over the display module that includes a patterned glass. The patterned glass includes a pattern portion including a groove pattern provided on one surface of the patterned glass to correspond to the folding area and a non-pattern portion disposed adjacent to the pattern portion to correspond to the folding area. A display device includes a backlight and a display panel on the backlight. The backlight includes a light source to provide a first light, and an optical wavelength converter to receive the first light and emits a second light. The optical wavelength converter includes a light emitting part having a plurality of excitation light emitting bodies to be excited by receiving the first light, and thereby emit the second light, and a light absorbing part including a plurality of absorbers provided on the light emitting part to receive the second light and absorb a portion of the second light having a wavelength of about 550 nm to about 650 nm.

A display device includes a display panel and a backlight unit. The display panel receives a light to display an image and has a first radius of curvature. The backlight unit is disposed under the display panel to provide the light to the display panel and has a second radius of curvature.
