The present disclosure relates to a low noise, compact rotary compressor configured to damp noise and vibration generated from internal components. The compressor may include a stator holder coupled to the stator and the pump, providing physical separation between the stator and the casing. The compressor may also include a pump holder coupled to the pump and the casing, providing physical separation between the pump and the casing. Additional damping components may be placed at various coupling points within and around the stator holder and/or pump holder. The suction line connection may also be configured to reduce noise and vibration. Aspects of the present disclosure may be applicable for reducing the noise and vibration in a number of fluid displacement devices and BLDC motors.

Compact low noise rotary compressor

This disclosure describes new horizontal roller-piston/vane type rotary compressors with novel features such as new lubricating oil circuit designs to provide reliable oil lubrication, and increase tiltability during operation. Also new multi-pump configurations of horizontal compressors are introduced in order to significantly increase redundancy, reliability, and turn down ratio. Rotary compressors may be configured with subsets of the disclosed features to configure those compressors for specific applications.

The present disclosure relates to a new breed of high performance compressors and associated vapor compression systems that can be used in wide ranging refrigeration, cooling and heating applications with significantly increased compressor isentropic efficiency, motor efficiency, reliability and longevity of the motor, the compressor pump and the system as a whole, as well as COP, heating capacity, and SEER of the new vapor compression systems utilizing the new high performance compressors. The design philosophy and modifications to the current configuration of rolling piston rotary compressor to arrive at the high-performance version of the same type will be readily applicable to other types of vapor compression compressors with only minor changes opening the way for adoption of the new design philosophy by the entire compressor industry resulting in serious reduction of carbon footprint for air conditioners, heat pumps and refrigerators worldwide.

Aspects described herein relate generally to rotary compressors that incorporate a flywheel within to significantly reduce the compressor vibration and drive torque ripples as well as to achieve a higher overall electro-mechanical efficiency and potentially lower combined costs of BLDC rotary compressors and their drive electronics.

Disclosed is a pressurized internal oil management system, comprising an oil dam, at least one oil separator, at least one oil collection manifold, at least one oil pump, and one or more paths for returning the separated oil; said system integrated within the casing of a fluid displacement device to supply adequate lubrication regardless of orientations under zero to full gravity, and methods and applications related thereto. Fluid displacement devices useful herein include oil lubricated rotary or reciprocating machinery, such as compressors, expanders, pumps and engines, in the casing of which exists one or more drive mechanisms that can be utilized to operate the oil management system, in most cases without even increasing the size of the casing. The present invention is especially useful for applications where small size and low weight of the fluid displacement device or the system containing it are important, such as personal or electronic cooling systems in terrestrial mobile applications or various cooling systems in aerospace applications.

Orientation and gravity insensitive in-casing oil management system for fluid displacement devices, and methods related thereto

The present invention provides various methods for producing gel sheets in a continuous fashion. The embodiments of the present invention help reduce the time of producing gel sheets that is suitable for industrial manufacturing. Such gel sheets are used in manufacturing aerogel blankets used in a variety of applications including thermal and acoustic insulation.

This invention discloses improvements that can be achieved in thermal or mechanical performance of aerogel composites via densification. Densified aerogels and aerogel composites can display higher compressive strength, modulus, flexural strength, and maintains or insubstantially increases the thermal conductivity relative to the pre-densified form. In the special case of fiber reinforced aerogel composites densification via mechanical compression can prove highly beneficial.

Methods to produce gel sheets

Sulfur is removed from a hydrocarbon fuel via contact with a desulfurization agent; the desulfurization agent is then regenerated (wherein sulfur is released) by exposing it to oxygen. The sulfur removal and regeneration processes each can be carried out at relatively moderate temperatures, e.g., from 300 to 600&#xb0; C., and pressure, e.g., about 0.79 to about 3.5 MPa; and the desulfurization agent can include a transition metal oxide, such as molybdenum oxide. The process can also include the additional steps of cracking the hydrocarbon, separating high-boiling and low-boiling fractions from the reaction product and contacting the lower-boiling fraction with a secondary desulfurization agent.

A lightweight and compact super-insulation system that is also capable of supporting a high level of compressive load. The system utilizes spacers to provide structural support and utilize controlled buckling of a thin protective outer skin supported by spacers to form strong catenary surfaces to protect insulation material underneath. The spacers may comprise an aerogel, or an aerogel may provide insulation separate from the spacer yet contained within the thin outer skin.

Drugs in the form of very fine highly porous aerogel particles are delivered to a patient via inhalation. The aerogel particles are either an aerogelized form of a pharmaceutical or deposited upon aerogel particles produced from a non-inorganic oxide carrier matrix material, e.g. a sugar or carbohydrate. The aerogel particles are readily dissolvable by the pulmonary surfactant present in the lungs of a mammal.

A method is described for enhancing mass and heat transport of fluids in a fine pore structure through an appropriate modulation of the fluid pressure. For example, in an air drying process for a porous material that contains liquid, the air pressure is modulated throughout the volume of the drying chamber. Alternatively, the fluid pressure is modulated in a process stream. As an example, this method can be used for rapid drying of any open porous substances ranging from small pored materials such as aerogels and xerogels, to larger pored substances or articles such as industrial articles, agricultural articles (e.g., densely stacked vegetables, coffee beans, hops and other grains), paper-based products, thin films, pharmaceuticals, cloth, and clothing.
