An LED module for a vehicle headlight and a vehicle headlight are described. The LED module includes an array of LEDs () and an optic () opposite the array of LEDs (). The optic () is configured to receive light from the array of LEDs () and direct at least part of the received light. The optic () has a light passing area () configured to pass light directly from the array of LEDs.

An automotive lighting system for a vehicle includes a light source, a refraction lens and a projection lens. The light source includes a first sub light source. The refraction lens includes a light entrance surface and a light exit surface. The light entrance surface has a first protrusion that has a first light entrance face adjacent the first sub light source and a first light exit face on the light entrance surface of the first refraction lens. The first protrusion is located at a periphery of the light entrance surface of the refraction lens with respect to an optical axis of the automotive lighting system.

Automotive lighting system

A lighting module includes a first light source that generates a low beam with a bright/dark cut-off line and a second light source. First optics redirects a first part of light from the first light source to create a main part of the low beam substantially below the bright/dark cut-off line. Second optics is spaced apart from the first optics and redirects a second part of light from the first light source to create a zone III beam of the low beam substantially above the bright/dark cut-off line and redirects a fourth part of light from the second light source to create a concentrated beam of the high beam in front of the vehicle. Third optics redirects a third part of light from the second light source to create a main part of a high beam.

A system includes a first primary optics that receives light from a first light source and projects it onto a transparent shutter and a secondary optics. A second primary optics receives light from the second light source and projects it onto the transparent shutter. The transparent shutter further receives light from the second light source via the second primary optics and projects it onto the secondary optics. The secondary optics receives light from the first primary optics and the transparent shutter and projects it onto a road in front of the vehicle. The transparent shutter includes an air-exposed slit that redirects the light received by the transparent shutter from the second light source toward a middle axis of the transparent shutter.

The present invention relates to the field of automotive lighting, and in particular to an automotive lighting system for a vehicle. The automotive lighting system for a vehicle comprises: a plurality of light sources; a plurality of primary optics, each being a reflector, arranged in a matrix and configured to receive and redirect light from the plurality of light sources; and a secondary optics configured to receive the redirected light from the plurality of primary optics and project the received light in front of the vehicle. Further, each light source is disposed in a focal plane of a corresponding one of the plurality of primary optics, and at least one of the plurality of primary optics is disposed in a focal plane of the secondary optics.

Automotive lighting system for vehicles

The embodiments of the invention provide a multi-focal collimating lens and a headlight assembly for an automotive low beam. The multi-focal collimating lens includes a central collimating lens portion and two total internal reflection lens portions arranged on a left side and a right side of the central collimating lens portion. The central collimating lens portion and the total internal reflection lens portions share two focal points symmetrically located on both sides of a vertical symmetry plane of the multi-focal collimating lens. An upper edge and a lower edge of the multi-focal collimating lens are formed based on the two focal points, so that the headlight assembly is able to generate a cut-off line of the automotive low beam in a far-field light pattern of the multi-focal collimating lens.

The embodiments of the invention provide a multi-focal collimating lens and a bi-function headlight assembly. With the relative positions referring to the mounting position of the multi-focal collimating lens within the bi-function headlight assembly, the multi-focal collimating lens includes a lower collimating lens part and an upper collimating lens part located on top of the lower collimating lens part. One focal point of the lower collimating lens part is located on a vertical symmetry plane of the lower collimating lens part, and two focal points of the upper collimating lens part are symmetrically located on both sides of a vertical symmetry plane of the upper collimating lens part, so that a cut-off line of a low beam can be generated in a far-field light pattern of the multi-focal collimating lens.

A front-lighting system for a vehicle has: a first light source, a second light source, a first primary optics, a second primary optics, a transparent shutter, and a secondary optics. The first primary optics receives light from the first light source and projects it onto the transparent shutter and the secondary optics. The second primary optics receives light from the second light source and projects it onto the transparent shutter. The transparent shutter receives light from the first primary optics and prevents a lower part of it from entering the secondary optics, receives light from the second primary optics and projects it onto the secondary optics, and has a light out-coupling surface and micro-optical structures on a bordering surface. The secondary optics receives light from the first primary optics and the transparent shutter, and projects it onto a road in front of the vehicle.

The invention relates to a headlight for a vehicle, comprising a concave reflector and a lamp arranged within the reflector to reflect light from the lamp to create an illumination beam with a bright/dark boundary. The lamp comprises a transparent vessel including a longitudinal axis, at least a first and second filament arranged within the vessel. A baffle arranged proximate to the first filament, and comprising first and second upper side edges. The first filament is arranged above a plane including the upper side edges. A different plane is through the center of the first filament and is arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The upper side edges are arranged symmetrically to a baffle symmetry axis extending from the center of the first filament centrally between the upper side edges. The lamp is arranged within the reflector rotated around said longitudinal axis by a rotation angle of 2&#xb0;-20&#xb0;.
