A dual direction connector interface includes a housing having first and second sides transverse to each other, and first and second dielectric bodies carried in the first and second sides, respectively, which have first and second bores formed therethrough, respectively. A conducting pin is carried within the housing. The conducting pin has a head and a shank. The first and second conductive bodies are carried on the head of the conducting pin and have first and second passages, respectively, formed therein for receiving a center conductor of a coaxial cable. The first and second passages are registered with the first and second bores, respectively.

Dual-direction connector interface for cable devices

A wideband RF choke circuit includes an input, first and second nodes, and a splitting means coupled between the input, first node, and second node. A first all-pass filter and a first line AC blocker are coupled between the input and the splitting means. Second and third all-pass filters, and second and third line AC blockers, are coupled between the splitting means and the first and second nodes, respectively. A first RF choke has a first end, coupled to the first all-pass filter, and a second end. A second RF choke has a first end, coupled to the second end of the first RF choke, and a second end coupled to the second all-pass filter. A third RF choke has a first end, coupled to the second end of the first RF choke, and a second end coupled to the third all-pass filter.

A tap has an input, an output, and first and second tap outputs. A first transmission line extends between the input and the output and includes a low-pass filter. A second transmission line extends between the input and a switch, and includes a directional coupler and a first high-pass filter. An AC/DC converter is coupled to the first transmission line to operate the switch between open and closed conditions, in response to existence and absence of power in the first transmission line, respectively. In the open condition of the switch, the second transmission line is coupled to a resistor and a ground. In the closed condition of the switch, the second transmission line is coupled to a second high-pass filter and the output. A splitter is coupled between the directional coupler and the first and second tap outputs.

Power passing termination tap

A polarity-inverting telecommunication tap includes a backplate having an input port, an output port, and terminal posts. The input and output ports communicate a signal having a signal polarity. The tap also includes a faceplate having a tap port and having sockets corresponding and complemental to the terminal posts. The tap port communicates a tap signal having a tap signal polarity. The tap further includes an adapter plate disposed between the backplate and faceplate. The adapter plate has an electrical circuit which inverts the tap signal polarity with respect to the signal polarity, so that downstream CATV devices may operate with an intended polarity.

Polarity-inverting telecommunication tap

An amplifier system an amplified path and a bypass path for carrying an RF signal. A switch in the amplified system routes the RF signal through the amplified path in response to a normal condition in the amplifier system, and routes the RF signal through the bypass path in response to an abnormal condition in the amplifier system. The amplified path includes an amplified forward circuit and a return circuit. The amplified forward circuit has an amplifier, and the return circuit has a return amplifier and detection circuitry for providing power to the return amplifier. The detection circuitry provides power to the return amplifier in response to a normal condition in the return circuit, and removes power from the return amplifier in response to an abnormal condition in the return circuit.

An improved process for converting oligomers of alphahydroxycarboxylic acids, such as glycolic and lactic acid, to dimeric cyclic esters, such as glycolide and lactide. The continuous process is conducted at reduced pressures and depolymerizing temperatures in a heated columnar depolymerization zone, coupled with an essentially unheated receiver for unconverted oligomer. By feeding the oligomer to the upper end of the column while coordinating the feed rate with the depolymerization temperature such that a fraction of the oligomer is converted to a vapor product stream containing the cyclic ester and another fraction of the oligomer exits the column at its lower end and passes to the receiver vessel, the dimeric cyclic ester is produced at high production rates and the oligomer is subjected to minimal thermal stress.

A process for preparing suture-grade .beta.-glycolide by purifying crude glycolide which comprises contacting the crude glycolide with a primary solvent which will dissolve the crude glycolide and residual impurities without dissolving primary impurities; removing the primary impurities; recovering the glycolide and residual impurities by evaporating the primary solvent at a temperature below 42.degree. C.; removing residual impurities by washing the glycolide with a washing solvent in which the residual impurities are soluble; and isolating the .beta.-glycolide crystals which remain.

A preferred compound is 1-methyl-3-cyclohexyl-6-dimethylamino-s-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione.

1,3,5-Triazinediones of the formula ##SPC1## Wherein X.sub.1, X.sub. 2, R.sub.1, R.sub. 2 and R.sub.3 are as hereinafter defined, are useful for the selective control of weeds in crops, e.g., corn. Many are also useful for altering plant flowering and plant sexual reproduction. Exemplary of the class of compounds are 3-isopropyl-6-methylthio-s-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, 3-(p-chlorophenyl)-6-methoxy-s-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione.
