A high-voltage generating device comprising: an outer case; an anvil member, a piezoelectric element and a support member which are assembled together and held and fixed in the outer case by means of an adhesive; and an inner case slidably received in the outer case and accommodating therein, a striking mechanism including a striker and a striker spring. The improvement comprises that the element mounting space in the outer case has a volume which is at least 2.5 times as large as the volume of the piezoelectric element; and the adhesive filling the element mounting space is made of a plastic having a high bonding force and a high hardness. The piezoelectric element together with the anvil member and the support member are rigidly fixed in the outer case by the adhesive, so that the vibration of the piezoelectric element impacted by the striker is accompanied by resonance vibration of the adhesive and the outer case, the resonance vibration enhancing the vibration of the piezoelectric element and prolonging the period of duration of the vibration. In consequence, a high level of high-voltage energy and, hence, a high ignition energy are obtained such as to permit the manual effort for causing the impact to be reduced.

Piezoelectric high-voltage generating device

A high voltage generating device in which a piezo-electric element is struck by a hammer to cause arc between discharging electrodes, includes a coil having an inductance of 100 to 1500 mH connected between the piezo-electric element and the discharging electrode to extend the arc period, improve the ignition factor, improve the operability and reduce impact noise.

High voltage piezoelectric generating device with lengthened spark time

The present invention provides a high voltage generating device utilizing a piezoelectric element. The device comprises an outer rotary member having a plurality of saw tooth-like cam lobes formed on its outer circumference equidistant from each other and an inner rotary member disposed in the outer rotary member. A cam follower for applying an impact to a piezoelectric element is biased toward the outer rotary member to cooperate with one of the cam lobes. The inner rotary member has a ball mounted therein and a spring for biasing the ball radially outwardly into operative engagement with an inner surface of the outer rotary member. The inner surface of the outer rotary member is so constructed and arranged as to permit free rotation of the inner rotary member unless the inner rotary member is depressed and turned in a predetermined direction. Under this condition the outer rotary member will rotate in the same rotational direction to cause the cam lobes to actuate the cam follower at several times, thus causing the piezoelectric element to produce a series of sparks.

Piezoelectric high voltage generating device

A high voltage generating device comprises an outer housing in which an abutment, a piezoelectric element and a receptacle member are housed, an inner housing slidably supported in a space within the outer housing and a hammer supported within the inner housing, said abutment being struck by said hammer to generate a high voltage. An inner peripheral surface of the outer housing is formed with a cam which is adapted to engage with and disengage from a pin mounted on the hammer in order to prevent impact noise generated when the abutment is struck from leaking outside the outer housing, whereby the high voltage generating device which generates small impact noise and which is protected from the entrance of dust is provided.
