The structure disclosed aims to provide a band plate winding system capable of high speed winding at a low cost. The band plate winding system comprises a carrousel type winder having a plurality of individually driven mandrels on a circular support frame provided so as to be rotationally drivable in a vertical plane, and a roll type wrapping device for supporting a plurality of unit rolls each provided so as to be moveable forward and backward between a position surrounding the mandrel located at a winding start position of the winder and a retreat position.

The present invention aims to provide a band plate winding system capable of high speed winding at a low cost. The band plate winding system comprises a carrousel type winder ( ) having a plurality of individually driven mandrels ( ) on a circular support frame ( ) provided so as to be rotationally drivable in a vertical plane, and a roll type wrapping device ( ) for supporting a plurality of unit rolls ( to ) each provided so as to be movable forward and backward between a position surrounding the mandrel located at a winding start position of the winder ( ) and a retreat position.

A band steel plate winding apparatus comprises a winding drum for winding a band steel plate; unit rolls, and curved surface guides adjacent to the unit rolls, provided along a circumferential surface of the winding drum forwardly and backwardly movably between a winding drum surrounding position and a retreat position, the position of the unit roll relative to the winding drum at the time of entry of the band steel plate being downstream at an angle of about 15 degrees or less from the position of contact between the winding drum and the band steel plate; and ejection nozzles provided in a guide surface of each of the curved surface guides for ejecting a gaseous or liquid fluid at a high speed toward the band steel plate before the band steel plate collides with the curved surface guide. The band steel plate winding apparatus permits high speed winding of a band steel plate while effectively preventing buckling of a front end of the band steel plate, and can avoid a great increase in equipment cost.

Band steel plate winding apparatus

A housingless rolling mill having an upper and lower work roll, upper bearing blocks and lower bearing blocks for supporting the upper and lower work rolls, and screw-down cylinders for pulling the upper and lower bearing blocks vertically toward each other. The screw-down cylinder is tiltable with the use of upper and lower spherical. Legs of the lower bearing block are turnable in a roll cross direction. Lower cross cylinders are provided at the lower bearing block, and upper cross cylinders are provided at the upper bearing block to enable the work rolls to cross at an angle .theta.. Thus, a strip material is rolled to a satisfactory shape and thickness with the upper work roll and the lower work roll crossing each other.

Housingless rolling mill

An improved method and apparatus for grinding a rotary body, in which a rotatably supported grindstone is positioned in such manner that an extension of a rotary axis of the grindstone does not intersect a rotary axis of the rotary body and the rotary axis of the grindstone is inclined with respect to a plane perpendicular to the rotary axis of the rotary body to be ground. The rotary body to be ground is rotatably driven, and the grindstone is pressed against the outer circumferential surface of the rotary body to be ground in order that the outer circumferential surface of the rotary body to be ground can be ground by a relative slip produced at a contact point between the outer circumferential surface of the rotary body to be ground and the grindstone.

Method and apparatus for grinding a rotary body

A method and apparatus for grinding a roll in a rolling mill on an on-line grinding basis, are improved in that a freely rotatable grinding body such and is a grindstone is pressed against a surface of the roll to be ground as directed in the direction making a predetermined angle with respect to the axis of the roll.
