Disclosed is an apparatus for setting a target position using a GUI screen. The apparatus includes a display that displays a representation of a listener and a representation of a hemispherical dome with the listener at the center as projected on a horizontal plane. A user sets a radius of the hemispherical dome through a click operation of a mouse and sets a target position of a sound image with respect to the listener through a drag operation toward the center. The sound image position is represented by a dot O. The dot O represents a position of the sound image with respect to the listener in the left-to-right direction, in the front-to-rear direction, and in the height direction.

Target position setting apparatus and sound image localization apparatus

A desired range of an audio file is repeatedly reproduced without a need to store sound data of a predetermined period in a memory in advance and without causing an interruption or a time lag. A CPU of an audio device activates at least two media players A and B for reproducing an audio file. During reproduction of the audio file by the media player A, the media player B is set to a wait state, and, in response to completion of the reproduction of the audio file by the media player A, the wait state of the media player B is automatically released and reproduction of the audio file is started, to achieve repeat reproduction.

Information processor, audio device, and program

A control device is provided which mixes and records two types of audio signals processed under standards different from each other; in particular, an audio signal of ASIO standard and an audio signal of WDM standard. An audio interface is connected to a computer, and an audio signal is input to the computer. A mixer module of the computer mixes an audio signal which is effect-processed by an ASIO application and an audio signal reproduced by a WDM application, and outputs the mixed audio signal to the audio interface and to the WDM application for sound recording. The user operates a screen displayed on an operation panel to switch between presence and absence of effect process and presence and absence of mixing.

Control device

An apparatus in which a user can easily check that an appropriate audio file is assigned to an immediate output switch. A system includes a PC connected to a communication line, and an audio interface apparatus connected to the PC and having an immediate output switch that outputs, in response to a user operation and to the PC, a reproduction start instruction signal of an audio file which is assigned in advance. The PC judges whether or not the assignment is normal when an audio file is assigned by a user operation, and displays a judgment result in association with a virtual switch displayed on a display corresponding to the immediate output switch.

Audio signal processor

An apparatus is provided in which a user can easily check that an appropriate audio file is assigned. A system includes a PC connected to a communication line, and an audio interface apparatus that has an immediate output switch that outputs, to the PC, a reproduction start instruction signal of an audio file which is assigned in advance in response to a user operation. The PC judges, when an audio file or a video file is assigned by a user operation and in the background, whether or not the assignment is normal, and displays a judgment result in association with a virtual switch displayed on the display corresponding to the immediate output switch. The judgment is also repeatedly executed in the background at a predetermined timing after the assignment, and when the assignment is not normal, this is displayed.

Audio/video signal processor

An apparatus and a system are provided in which a user can easily check that an appropriate audio file is assigned to an immediate output switch. The system includes a PC connected to a communication line, and an audio interface apparatus connected to the PC and having an immediate output switch for outputting, to the PC and in response to a user operation, a reproduction start instruction signal of an audio file which is assigned in advance. The PC judges whether or not assignment is normal when the audio file is assigned by a user operation, and supplies a judgment result to the audio interface apparatus. The audio interface apparatus receives the judgment result, and notifies, to the user and prior to a user operation, the judgment result in association with the immediate output switch.

Audio apparatus and audio system

An information processing apparatus capable of easily adjusting parameter values of operation elements by multi-touch operation. Operation elements are displayed on a touch panel. A CPU detects a touch on a first operation element, like a first fader, as a first touch. When detecting a touch on a second element, like a second fader, as a second touch while the first touch is maintained, the CPU reflects a parameter value set on the first operation element onto a parameter value of the second operation element.

Information processing apparatus capable of being operated by multi-touch

A device is provided which adds a desired delay (echo) effect while suppressing increase in the cost with a simple structure. A CPU of an audio device activates a plurality of media players A, B, C, . . . for reproducing an audio file. The audio file is reproduced as an original sound by one of the plurality of media players, and a delay sound with respect to the original sound of the audio file is reproduced by another media player, and is added to the original sound.

Audio device and program

An edit processing apparatus for enhancing user operability. The edit processing apparatus has an output device for displaying a target to be edited; and a CPU that displays on the output device edit menus for the target in accordance with a relative positional relationship between a position of the target and a cursor position on the output device and a frequency of selection made at the cursor position in the past.

Edit processing apparatus and storage medium

A storage device has a data erasing function. A controller of a storage device, such as an USB, has a lost timer section and an emergency timer section. Both timer sections halt clocking operation as a result of initiation of use of the storage device by an authorized user. The lost timer section commences clocking operation as a result of completion of use of the storage device by the authorized user. The emergency timer section commences clocking operation as a result of unauthorized removal of the storage device. When either the lost timer section or the emergency timer section outputs a count-up signal, data in flash ROM are erased.

Storage device

An optical disk apparatus which records data on the basis of a predetermined minimum amount of recording data. Recording data supplied from an external device is stored in a buffer memory and then encoded and recorded on an optical disk. The data is recorded in units of one ECC block (sixteen sectors). When the buffer memory has a free space corresponding to data amount of less than one ECC block, a system controller supplies a request for data in a data amount of the free space to the host device to store data corresponding to one ECC block in the buffer memory, as a result of which data filling by means of access to the optical disk is prevented.

Optical disk apparatus

An optical disc apparatus includes a buffer memory for shared use between write data and read data. Upon receipt of a write command from an external host device, a system controller stores, in a buffer memory, write data attached to the write command, and, after storing the write data, supplies the write data to an optical pickup. When a read command is received after the receipt of the write command, execution of the write command is interrupted at a predetermined time, to store read data retrieved from the optical disc in a recorded area of the buffer memory. Further, a segment of the write data is recorded, and pre-read data retrieved from the optical disc is also stored in the area of the buffer memory, to improve a data hit rate.

Optical disc apparatus with interruptible write operation

A recording apparatus for an erasable optical disk, which includes: a first part which measures a modulation degree of a signal reproduced from an area of the optical disk at a time of overwriting first data recorded in the area with second data; a second part which determines a first write power level corresponding to the modulation degree measured by said first part based on a relation between write power levels and modulation degrees of signals reproduced from a test recording area of the optical disk, the signals being recorded therein with the corresponding write power levels different from one another; a third part which obtains a target modulation degree corresponding to a type of and a recording rate for the optical disk from one of tables prestoring modulation degrees corresponding to optical disk types and recording rates; and a fourth part which obtains a write power level for overwriting from the first write power level based on a comparison between the target modulation degree and the modulation degree measured by said first part, wherein the recording apparatus overwrites the first data with the second data with the write power level for overwriting.
