Provided is an inductor capable of adjusting an inductance in dozens of nH increments without requiring a large number of components. The inductor includes: a conductor; a first core body and a second core body each having an opposed surface, the opposed surface of the first core body and the opposed surface of the second core body facing each other so as to enclose the conductor; and a holding part provided with a slide surface for varying an opposed area of the opposed surfaces of the first core body and the second core body, for holding at least one of the first core body and the second core body at a desired position.

Magnetic element

A magnetic assembly includes a mounting substrate and a magnetic element mounted on the mounting substrate. The magnetic element includes a drum core provided with a flange portion at each end of a winding shaft, a coil wound on the winding shaft, and a shield core engaged with the drum core, the shield core including an engagement portion having a shape that corresponds to the shape of a portion of the outer circumference of at least one of the flange portions so that the engagement portion mates with the at least one flange portion.

To provide a magnetic element the ends of the coil of which can be drawn out from the core easily, is compact, and further, is one in which magnetic saturation does not arise easily. A magnetic element has a core unit provided with a wound coil, a center coreinserted into the interior of the inner periphery of the coil, planar cores disposed at both ends of the center core, and a side core disposed between the planar cores and on the outside periphery of the coil. The side core is disposed so as to form an open portion between the two planar cores around the coil, with a recessed portion formed in a surface of the side core facing the coil in which the coil is partially contained.

A magnetic element includes a drum core provided with a flange portion having a flange surface at each end portion of a winding shaft, a coil wound on the winding shaft, a terminal to connect each end portion of the coil, and a shield core provided with an engagement portion having such a shape that partially fits in along an outer circumference of the flange portion.
