A connector which makes it possible to prevent contacts from being removed without increasing press-in force of the contacts. A crank-shaped portion or protruding portion is formed, as a retaining portion, on an linking portion which links a contact portion and a connection portion of each contact. A housing for holding a plurality of the contacts is comprised of a front housing in which contact-side portions of the contacts are disposed, and a rear housing in which connection-side portions of the same are disposed. When the front housing and the rear housing are assembled, the crank-shaped portion and the protruding portions are brought into abutment with the rear housing.

The connector for on-board mounting includes a housing body having multiple contacts, metal locking engagement members each having a locking portion to be engaged with a locked engagement member provided to a cable-side connector for a purpose of locking a connection between connectors and being fixed to the housing body and a metal outer shell member covering a side wall of a front portion of the housing body and provided with opening portions through which the locking engagement members pass. The opening portion of the outer shell member is provided such that an edge thereof which faces the opening portion and the locking engagement member are brought into contact with each other and the locking engagement members and the outer shell member are provided with board-connecting posts on rear portions to be disposed on a board.

Connector for on-board mounting

A shell covering a housing has a shell body portion and a first and a second joining portion joining both ends of the shell body portion to each other. The first joining portion has a projecting portion projecting from a first end portion of the shell body portion and a recessed portion formed at a second end portion of the shell body portion and engaging with the projecting portion. The second joining portion has a first overlapping portion and a second overlapping portion that are overlapped with each other. The first overlapping portion is part of the first end portion and the second overlapping portion is part of the second end portion. An opening is formed at the first overlapping portion and a caulking portion is formed at the second overlapping portion. The opening and the caulking portion engage with each other by caulking the caulking portion.

Electrical connector having a shell

In an optical connection apparatus for use in optical connection, a shutter is held by a housing defining an optical axis of the optical connection. The shutter is formed by a single sheet of plate material and includes a plate-like light shielding portion positioned to cross the optical axis and a held portion held by the housing. The shielding portion has a width in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis. The held portion is shifted in position with respect to the light shielding portion in the direction of the width of the shielding portion.

Optical connection apparatus which has a shutter and which can be designed to be small in size

An optical connector apparatus includes a first connector having a first connecting portion adapted to be connected to and disconnected from a first connecting object in a first direction, a second connector which has a second connecting portion adapted to be connected to a second connection object and which is coupled to the first connector, and an optical fiber connected between the first and the second connectors. The first connector includes a first ferrule having an end portion formed at a position corresponding to the first connecting portion and having a first outer diameter. The second connector includes a second ferrule having an end portion formed at a position corresponding to the second connecting portion and having a second outer diameter greater than the first outer diameter. The optical fiber is coupled to the first and the second ferrules.
