Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for power cords with integrated wireless communication components. In one embodiment, an example power cable may include a first portion having a first connector, a second portion having a second connector, and an integrated radio module with a ZigBee radio. The integrated radio module may be coupled between the first portion and the second portion.

A control circuit configured to conserve battery in a mobile device is described. The control circuit upon receiving an input signal from an input sensor sends a suspend signal to the power management integrated circuit (PMIC), which may turn off power in the rest of device and keep the processor and PMIC powered on, thereby transitioning the mobile device into a suspend mode. After a predetermined period of time, the mobile device saves all processes running on the processor and registry content of the memory in a non-volatile memory on the device and shuts off the PMIC and the processor to transition into a hibernate mode. The input sensor and control circuit which receive power directly from the battery management can turn on the PMIC and the processor upon receiving an awake signal from the input sensor, thereby transitioning the device back to an awake mode.

A locationing system for use in a wireless network generally includes a wireless switch and a global positioning system (GPS) located proximate to or integrated into the wireless switch such that it communicates GPS data to the wireless switch. At least one access port (AP) is coupled to the wireless switch. At least one RFID reader (mobile and/or fixed) is configured to communicate with the access port, and the RFID reader is configured to read an RFID tag and communicate RFID tag data to the wireless switch. The wireless switch is configured to determine the location of the RFID tag utilizing the GPS data and the RFID tag data.

Methods and apparatus for a pervasive locationing and presence-detection system

A method and system for transmitting text information using multifrequency signals is provided. A switching center transmits a first multifrequency signal indicating the start of a text transmission. A receiver unit receives the first multifrequency signal and prepares to receive text information. The switching center transmits to the receiver unit a second and third multifrequency signals after the first multifrequency signal. The second and third multifrequency signals contain information corresponding to a text character. The receiver unit receives the second and third multifrequency signals and determines the text character transmitted. The switching center transmits a fourth multifrequency signal to the receiver unit indicating the end of the text transmission.

Text transmission using DTMF signalling

A method and circuit which allows a telephone user having a conversation with a second party in a telephone system having call waiting to effectively respond to an incoming call from a third party without having to engage in conversation with the third party. To accomplish this, the user presses a key on a customer premises equipment (CPE) which initiates a first flash hook operation which places the second party on hold and connects the CPE to the third party. A pre-recorded message corresponding to the pressed key is then transmitted to the third party. The CPE then performs a second flash hook operation which disconnects the third party and removes the second party from the hold state. A plurality of keys, having a corresponding plurality of pre-recorded messages can be provided, thereby allowing the user to respond to the third party with different messages. The CPE can include CIDCW capabilities which enable the user to learn the identity of the third party before selecting the pre-recorded message.
