The disclosure provides compositions and systems for topical ophthalmic application, which include an aqueous mixture of bromfenac and flowable mucoadhesive polymer, for treating inflammation and inflammatory conditions of the eye.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory ophthalmic compositions

A method of treating blepharitis includes administering to the affected eye of a subject an effective amount of an active ingredient in an ophthalmically acceptable vehicle for a sufficient period of time to treat blepharitis. The active ingredient consists essentially of a glucocorticoid in an ophthalmically acceptable vehicle that includes an aqueous polymer suspension that when mixed with tear fluid provides a sustained release of said active ingredient. The aqueous polymer suspension includes a carboxyl-containing polymer having less than about 5% by weight cross-linking agent and has a viscosity in a range from about 1,000 to about 30,000 centipoises. A kit includes: (a) a composition comprising about 0.1% by weight dexamethasone in this ophthalmically acceptable vehicle and (b) instructions for using the composition of (a) for the treatment of blepharitis.

Methods for treating ocular inflammatory diseases

A method of treating non-infectious, inflammatory blepharitis includes administering to the affected eye of a subject an effective amount of an active ingredient in an ophthalmically acceptable vehicle for a sufficient period of time to treat the non-infectious, inflammatory blepharitis. A subconjunctival injection apparatus for administering a pharmacological agent formulation to a subconjunctival compartment of an eye, the apparatus including a jet injector having force generating means that is adapted to generate sufficient force to expel the pharmacological agent formulation from the jet injector and through the conjunctiva. In one embodiment of the invention, the jet injector comprises a needleless jet injector. In one embodiment, the needleless jet injector provides a delivery pressure in the range of approximately 100-1000 psi.

Subconjunctival agent delivery apparatus, system and method

An intravitreal injection system for administering a pharmacological agent formulation to an intravitreal compartment of an eye, comprising (i) an injection member coupled to, or comprising, an internal formulation chamber that is adapted to receive and contain the pharmacological agent formulation therein, (ii) a needle having a first end that is in communication with a formulation chamber and a second injection end, and (iii) a movable platform for positioning the system on the eye, guiding the needle, and limiting the penetration depth of the needle into the eye.

Intravitreal injection device and system

An intravitreal injection device for administering a pharmacological agent formulation to an intravitreal compartment of an eye, comprising (i) a nozzle member having an internal formulation chamber that is adapted to receive and contain the pharmacological agent formulation therein, (ii) a microneedle having a first end that is in communication with the nozzle member and a second ejection end, (iii) and piercing depth limiter means for limiting the penetration depth of the microneedle into the eye, the microneedle piercing depth limiter means including guide means for positioning the limiter means and guiding the microneedle.
