An ophthalmic lens may comprise a posterior optic surface and an anterior optic surface, which may comprise a central optic, a peripheral optic, and a capsule rim separating the central optic and the peripheral optic. An optic edge may couple the posterior optic surface to the peripheral optic. The capsule rim may be symmetric or asymmetric in various embodiments. In more particular embodiments, the capsule rim may form a surface at an angle of at least ninety (90) degrees to the peripheral optic. In some embodiments, the central optic may comprise an optic axis, and the capsule rim may form a surface that is substantially parallel to the optic axis.

Intraocular lens with rotational resistance and negative dysphotopsia mitigation

An exemplary ophthalmic lens includes an optic comprising an anterior optic surface and a posterior optic, and a multi-curvature optical edge surrounding the optic and connecting the anterior optic surface to the posterior optic surface, the multi-curvature optical edge comprising a plurality of tangentially-connected curved surfaces configured to mitigate positive dysphotopsia by directing or diffusing from light incident on the multi-curvature optical edge away from a fovea of a patient.

A multi-part intraocular lens (IOL) with an interchangeable optic seated on a base and secured by a locking mechanism. The optic comprises an anterior surface with a diameter greater than a diameter of a ring of the base. The posterior side of the optic has a posterior surface, a transition region for contact with the base, and sidewalls and tabs radially outward of the transition region. The sidewalls and tabs overlap at least a portion of the ring to reduce or even prevent decentration and tilt of the optic. Each tab has a lateral extension for coupling to the base.

Multi-part intraocular lens with locking mechanism

An intraocular lens (IOL) has an optic, a peripheral rim, and a reduced thickness region connecting the optic to the peripheral rim. The peripheral rim has a continuously curving outer edge that it does not include any tangents parallel to the optical axis either along its length or at the intersection of the outer edge with the anterior or posterior surfaces of the IOL.

Edge design for reducing unwanted photic effects in intraocular lenses

In certain embodiments, an ophthalmic lens comprises an optic. The optic has an optical axis and surfaces comprising an anterior surface and a posterior surface. At least one of the surfaces has an inner refractive region and a refractive-diffractive structure disposed outwardly from the inner refractive region in a direction away from the optical axis. The inner refractive region is adapted to contribute refractively to a distance focus optical power. The refractive-diffractive structure comprises one or more diffractive regions and one or more refractive regions. A diffractive region is adapted to contribute diffractively to a multi-zone optical power, and a refractive region is adapted to contribute refractively to the distance focus optical power.

Apodized hybrid diffractive-refractive IOL for pseudo-accommodation

Exemplary embodiments provide a coated intraocular lens that has a lens body with a first refractive index and an anti-reflective coating. The coating covers at least a portion of the lens body and has a second index of refraction that is less than the first index of refraction of the lens body. The anti-reflective coating reduces the intensity of reflections produced from off axis light incident on the lens body by at least a factor of 2.5 times and enhancing light transmission.
