The present disclosure provides a detection system for detecting matter and distinguishing specific matter from other matter. The detection system comprises at least one light source arranged to emit one or more light beams having a known wavelength or wavelength range. Further, the detection system comprises at least one optical element configured to direct the one or more light beams onto a plurality of locations within an area of interest including the matter. The detection system also comprises a detector for detecting intensities of the one or more light beams reflected at the plurality of locations within the area of interest including the matter. In addition, the detection system comprises an outcome determination system. The system is arranged to obtain information indicative of at least a portion of a shape of at least some of the matter based on detected light intensities of the one or more light beams reflected at the plurality of locations. The system is also arranged to obtain information indicative of a spectral intensity distribution based on detected light intensities of the one or more light beams reflected at the plurality of locations. The outcome determination system is arranged determine whether the matter is specific matter based on the information indicative of at least a portion of a shape of at least some of the matter and based on the information indicative of a spectral intensity distribution.

Detection system for detecting matter and distinguishing specific matter from other matter

The present disclosure provides a device for generating electric energy. The device comprises a panel that is at least partially transmissive for visible light. The panel has a receiving surface for receiving incident light and is arranged such that a portion of the incident light is redirected towards regions that are at edges or side portions of the panel. The device further comprises a plurality of photovoltaic elements positioned at or in the proximity of the edges or side portions of the panel. Each of the plurality of photovoltaic elements is electrically parallel connected to another one of the plurality of photovoltaic elements and the device is arranged to generate the electricity from at least a portion of the redirected incident light.

Device for generating electric energy

The present disclosure provides a panel structure for receiving light and generating electricity. The panel structure comprises a panel material that has a light receiving surface. The panel material is at least partially transmissive for light having a wavelength in the visible wavelength range. The panel structure further comprises a photovoltaic material being positioned in or at the panel material. The photovoltaic material is distributed between transmissive areas that are void of the photovoltaic material such that features of the photovoltaic material are sufficiently narrow to be at least largely invisible to the naked eye.

Panel structure for receiving light and generating electricity

The present disclosure provides a spectrally selective panel that comprises a first panel portion that is at least partially transmissive for light having a wavelength in the visible wavelength range. The panel also comprises a first reflective component that is arranged to reflect incident light within an infrared (IR) wavelength band and within an ultraviolet (UV) wavelength band while being at least partially transmissive for light having a wavelength within the visible wavelength band.

Spectrally selective panel

The present disclosure provides a window for generating electric energy. The window comprises a panel that is at least partially transmissive for visible light. The panel has a receiving surface for receiving incident light and is arranged such that a portion of the incident light is redirected towards regions that are at edges or side portions of the panel. The window further comprises a plurality of photovoltaic elements positioned at or in the proximity of the edges or side portions of the panel. Each of the plurality of photovoltaic elements is electrically parallel connected to another one of the plurality of photovoltaic elements and the window is arranged to generate the electricity from at least a portion of the redirected incident light.

The present invention disclosure provides a spectrally selective panel that comprises a first material being at least partially transmissive for light having a wavelength in the visible wavelength range and being arranged for guiding suitable light. Further, the panel comprises a diffractive element being positioned in, at or in the proximity of the first material. The diffractive element is arranged to deflect predominantly light having a wavelength in an IR wavelength band. The first material is arranged and the diffractive element is oriented such that at least a portion of energy associated with IR light incident from a transversal direction of the spectrally selective panel is directed along the panel towards a side portion of the panel.

The present disclosure provides an optical device for selecting specific matter, such as plant matter. The device comprises a light source for emitting light having at least (3) wavelengths and for generating a combined beam of light having the at least 3 wavelengths. The device further comprises an optical element for directing a plurality of light beams towards matter including the specific matter. The optical element has first surface portions through which in use the plurality of component light beams are directed to the matter including the specific matter. Each component light beam is directed through a respective first surface portion that has an optical property that is selected so that light intensity differences between the component light beams are reduced. The optical device also comprises an optical filter for filtering reflected component light beams such that an intensity of light is reduced in a wavelengths range outside one or more wavelengths ranges that include the at least three wavelengths. Further, the optical device comprises a detector for detecting the reflected component light beams.

Device for selecting a specific matter

A wavelength-tunable laser system includes an optical fiber collimator array having at least two ports, an optical amplifier connected to one port of an optical fiber, an optical coupler for coupling light incident from the optical amplifier and transmitting the coupled light to another port, a diffraction grating plate for guiding each wavelength component of light incident from the optical fiber collimator array in a different direction, and an Opto-Very Large Scale Integration (Opto-VLSI) processor.

Wavelength-tunable laser system

The present invention provides an optical connection component which comprises a solid state laser component for emitting a modulated beam of light in response to an applied electrical signal. The optical connection component also comprises an optical lens positioned relative to the solid state laser component at a predetermined position in which the optical lens reduces divergence of the emitted beam of light. The optical lens is formed at the predetermined position in a manner such that the optical lens is immobile relative to the solid state laser component. The optical connection component further comprises an optical waveguide having a core for guiding the light. The optical waveguide has first and second end-portions. The first end-portion is positioned for coupling the modulated light from the optical lens into the core. In addition, the optical connection component comprises a receiver for receiving the modulated light from the second end-portion of the optical waveguide and arranged for converting the modulated light into a corresponding electrical signal.

A sensing system comprises a light source having three or more distinct wavelengths for illuminating a plurality of distinct areas in a field of view, a sensor for measuring the reflectance of the distinct areas at each of the distinct wavelengths, and an identifier for identifying at least one object in the field of view from the measured reflectance at each of the wavelengths.
