A system for dissociating cells from a cell culture vessel. The system comprises an imaging system configured to image a plurality of cells in a cell culture vessel being dissociated from at least one surface of the cell culture vessel by at least one cell dissociation agent; and at least one controller coupled to the imaging system and configured to: control the imaging system to capture a sequence of images of at least some cells in the plurality of cells during dissociation; and identify when to neutralize the at least one cell dissociation agent using the sequence of images.

Systems and methods for cell dissociation

According to at least one aspect, a system configured to count cells in a vessel is provided. The system comprises an imaging system configured to image cells in the vessel and a controller coupled to the imaging system. The controller is configured to control the imaging system to capture a focused image of the cells and estimate a number of cells in the focused image. The controller is configured to control the imaging system to capture a focused image of the cells at least in part by controlling the imaging system to capture a plurality of images of the cells in a plurality of focal planes, determining an area of at least one cell in each of the plurality of images, and selecting one image from the plurality of images as the focused image using the area of the at least one cell in the plurality of images.

This document describes methods, systems and computer program products directed to imaging blood cells. The subject matter described in this document can be embodied in a method of classifying white blood cells (WBCs) in a biological sample on a substrate. The method includes acquiring, by an image acquisition device, a plurality of images of a first location on the substrate, and classifying, by a processor, objects in the plurality of images into WBC classification groups. The method also includes identifying, by a processor, objects from at least some classification groups, as unclassified objects, and displaying, on a user interface, the unclassified objects and at least some of the classified objects.

Components, e.g., background, cytoplasm, nucleus and nucleolus, of a biological specimen are identified using multi-wavelength analysis. Specimen components, such as nucleoli, are selected, and a determination is made whether cells having nucleoli are cancer cells or regular repair cells based on one or more physical characteristics of the identified component. The physical characteristics can be one or more of a shape, size, texture and gray value.

Method and system for processing an image of a biological specimen

Methods, systems and computer readable media for processing one or more biological specimens carried by specimen slides. Images of objects in a specimen are acquired and objects of interest in the acquired images are identified. Additional images of identified objects of interest may be acquired at multiple wavelengths. The present invention relates to a method and system for classifying biological specimen. A number of objects of interest are identified in a biological specimen. The nuclear area and nuclear integrated optical density for each object of interest in the specimen are measured and used for generating a scatter plot. Methods, systems, and computer software for determining the stain quality of a plurality of biological specimens. A number of objects of interest are identified in a biological specimen.
