The scroll housing may include air suction holes formed on both of first and second plates and a rounded portion formed to be convex in an opposite direction of the impeller on a scroll that connects both of the first and second plates. An interval from the main plate to the rounded portion in a direction perpendicular to a rotation central axis of the impeller may be the largest. A rapid change in direction of air flowing to the scroll from the impeller may be minimized, and collision of air with the scroll may be lessened, reducing a flow loss and enhancing efficiency.

A fin tube heat exchanger includes a plurality of fin plates spaced at regular intervals in parallel with one another and adapted to allow air to flow therebetween, each fin plate having a plurality of through-holes in at least one row in a longitudinal direction of the fin plates, a plurality of refrigerant tubes inserted into the through-holes of the fin plates in a perpendicular direction and a plurality of raised strips formed in a plurality of rows in a direction perpendicular to an air flow. Rising portions on the refrigerant tube side of the raised strips in another row near to a longitudinal fin edge are formed along an outer tangential line of the circular arc. The number of the raised strips in another row near to the longitudinal fin edge is more than the number of the raised strips in one row near to the center line of the through-holes.

A fin tube heat exchanger is used in an air conditioner or the like and includes a plurality of plate-shaped fins at regular intervals in parallel with one another through which air flows, a plurality of heat transfer tubes extending through the plate-shaped fins, and a plurality of cutouts formed in the plate-shaped fins to partially surround the heat transfer tubes. A semicircle-shaped flat portion is formed on the center part of a plurality of the cutouts on the windward side and the leeward side. This arrangement makes it possible to improve the heat exchange performance by arranging a plurality of the cutouts compactly.

A fin tube heat exchanger includes a plurality of fin plates disposed in parallel with one another, spaced at regular intervals and adapted to allow air to flow therebetween, and a plurality of refrigerant tubes disposed in at least two rows, inserted into the fin plates in a perpendicular direction and being adapted to allow a fluid medium to pass therein. Each of the fin plates has a plurality of raised strips which extend in a direction perpendicular to a direction of air flow. A plurality of normal raised strips are formed on both sides of the fin plates in at least one row on an air flow outlet side. A plurality of low raised strips or embossings are formed on at least one side of the fin plates in other rows. The height of the low raised strips or embossings in the other rows are lower than the height of the normal raised strips in the at least one row.

A fin tube heat exchanger for use in an air conditioner includes a plurality of fin plates spaced at regular intervals, disposed in parallel with one another. A plurality of heat exchange tubes extend through the fin plates in a direction perpendicular to planes in which the fin plates lie. A plurality of raised strips formed in a lower row have a height lower than those on the highest row, which causes water drops to readily drop along the fin plate. A plurality of embossed projection parts may be formed instead of or in addition to the raised strips.
