A method of securely providing a trusted time to a first device may include receiving at a network interface controller (NIC) a neighbor list comprising a plurality of entries for a corresponding plurality of neighbor devices wherein each of the plurality of entries includes a unique device identity of a time server which the plurality of neighbor devices has reached, and an inception time of a time server certificate corresponding to the unique device identity. The method may further include sorting the plurality of entries within the neighbor list to obtain a sorted neighbor list and sending a time request to a first neighbor device of the plurality of neighbor devices based at least in part on the sorted neighbor list.

Obtaining secure time over a heterogeneous network

Techniques for messaging based on trust levels and resource limitations in a mesh network include receiving, by a first node of a mesh network, a message; determining, by the first node, a security key type based on a resource parameter associated with a neighbor node included in the mesh network; securing, by the first node, the message using a security key of the security key type; and transmitting, by the first node, the secured message to the neighbor node. The resource parameter associated with the neighbor node comprises at least one of an amount of memory used to decrypt the secured message at the neighbor node, an amount of power used to decrypt the secured message at the neighbor node, or an indication of an amount of power remaining at the neighbor node.

Various embodiments set forth a method comprising receiving, at a server node from a client node, a client compression dictionary that includes one or more first mappings between one or more first index values and one or more data entries included in a certificate cache of the client node; identifying, in response to receiving the client compression dictionary and based on the client compression dictionary, one or more certificates that should be transmitted to the client node; and transmitting, from the server node to the client node, the one or more identified certificates.

Various embodiments disclose a computer-implemented method for sending a message associated with an outage event, comprising, at a first node in a network, receiving a key from a second node in the network, wherein the second node is adjacent to the first node; storing the key in a first memory, wherein the first memory is capable of operating in a low power mode; detecting an outage event; in response to detecting the outage event, operating a first processor in the low power mode; and via the first processor operating in the low power mode: generating a message, securing the message using the key, and sending the message to the second node.

A battery-powered device (BPD) node compresses certificate chains to generate compressed certificate chains. The BPD node includes a compression dictionary that indexes various data entries that occur across many certificate chains and/or repeat within a particular certificate chain. The BPD node compresses a given certificate chain by replacing data entries within the given certificate chain with indices to corresponding data entries in the compression dictionary. The indices are smaller in size than the corresponding data entries. A neighboring BPD node also includes the compression dictionary and decompresses a compressed certificate chain by replacing indices included in the compressed certificate chain with the indexed data entries stored in the compression dictionary. Performing certificate exchanges with compressed certificate chains reduces the amount of limited battery power that is depleted during certificate exchanges, thereby extending BPD node operational lifetime and helping to prevent the need for premature battery replacement.

The computer then creates a mockup image presenting the one or more graphical user interface components and the string. According to embodiments of the present invention, a first metadata defining how a user interface associated with an application under test should appear is generated using one or more computer processors. An image of the user interface associated with the application under test that is invoked during a test run is captured using one or more one or more computer processors. The captured image is converted, using one or more computer processors, into one or more of a second metadata and text. The first metadata is compared, using one or more computer processors, to the second metadata and the text. In response to the comparison resulting in a difference between the first metadata and the second metadata, the image is stored, using one or more computer processors, and an assessment request is generated using one or more computer processors.

A method for visualization of big data using three dimensional pie charts. The method includes receiving at least a first set of data, comprising information detailing one or more subsets of values, each value having an associated time element. The method includes determining a three dimensional pie chart based on the at least first set of data, which includes at least as first layer comprising a first set of wedges and a second layer comprising a second set of wedges.
