Apparatuses, methods, and systems of hub communication with a satellite network or a terrestrial network are disclosed. One method includes determining a propagation delay between a wireless communication device and a base station of a satellite network, adjusting, by the wireless communication device, a timing offset between transmit and receive radio frames at the wireless communication device based on whether the satellite network or a terrestrial network is selected, and based at least on the propagation delay, configuring air interface communication protocol timer values including at least a wait time for a response based on at least a frame offset between uplink and downlink frames at the base station of the satellite network, and communicating, by the wireless communication device, with the base station of the satellite network when the satellite network is selected, and with a base station of the terrestrial network when the terrestrial network is selected.

Hub communication with a satellite network or a terrestrial network

Apparatuses, methods, and systems of hub communication with a satellite network or a terrestrial network are disclosed. One method includes detecting presence of the satellite network, detecting, by the hub, presence of a terrestrial network, selecting to connect to one of the satellite network or the terrestrial network based on a priority ruleset, estimating a propagation delay between the hub and a base station of the satellite network when the satellite network is selected, adjusting a timing offset between transmit and receive radio frames at the hub based on whether the satellite network or the terrestrial network is selected, and based at least on the propagation delay, and communicating with the base station of the satellite network or a base station of the terrestrial network.

The invention relates to a solution for determining an allowable round trip time for a communication between a base station and a terminal device served by the base station in an asynchronous communication system, At least some aspects of the solution relate to a method performed by a controller, the method comprises: determining round trip times of terminal devices served by the base station; selecting a maximum round trip time among the determined round trip times of the terminal devices served by the base station as the allowable round trip time; and delivering the selected allowable round trip time to the base station. The solution also relates to applying the determined round trip time by a base station and a terminal device as well as to a system comprising the mentioned entities and to computer program products.

Disclosed is a base station including at least one baseband processing unit, a front-haul network and at least one remote radio unit. The base station further includes an adaptation unit configured to control transmission data packets between the baseband processing unit and at least one remote radio unit. The adaptation unit includes a buffer module and a communication module that is configured to determine if the buffer module includes at least one data packet to be transmitted at a scheduled instant of time, and in response to a detection that the at least one data packet is missing the communication module inserts padding data to the buffer module. The invention also relates to a method thereto.

Base station for controlling a transmission of data packets and a method thereto

A method for controlling the aggregate interference of a secondary system () in a cognitive radio network comprises the steps of computing the power density (Pd,i), footprint (Afoot,i) and service area (Ai) for each of the cells () of the secondary system () that satisfy the interference constraint at a given point (P) in a primary system (); summing the power densities (Pd,i) for all cells () for the point (P); and using the sum of the power density at the point (P) to decide which power level a new secondary system () user is allowed to use in a given cell (). A system for performing such a method is also disclosed.
