Provided is a brush assembly for transferring lightning current between a first structure and a second structure, which brush assembly includes a holder realized for mounting to one of the two structures; a recess formed in the holder, which recess is shaped to accommodate a brush and to expose a first brush face; and a first displacement means arranged to move the first exposed brush face against a surface of the first structure; and wherein the recess is shaped to also expose a second brush face, and the brush assembly further includes a second displacement means arranged to move the second exposed brush face against a surface of the second structure. Further provided is a lightning protection circuit of a wind turbine; and a wind turbine.

A method of guiding lightning to a lightning receptor of a rotor blade for a wind turbine, wherein the method includes the following steps: Generating a vortex of airflow by means of a vortex generator, the vortex generator being located at the surface of the rotor blade; attracting the lightning by the vortex; guiding the lightning to the lightning receptor is provided. Furthermore, the invention relates to a rotor blade for a wind turbine, wherein the rotor blade comprises a vortex generator for generating a vortex of airflow, the vortex generator being located at the surface of the rotor blade, and a lightning receptor for receiving an electrical current from the lightning. The vortex generator and the lightning receptor are arranged such with regard to each other that the lightning is guided to the lightning receptor by the vortex which is generated by the vortex generator.

Guiding lightning to a lightning receptor

A lightning protection system for a tower of a wind turbine is provided. The tower includes a reinforced concrete tower wall in which a plurality of electrically conductive structural reinforcing elements are embedded during construction. The lightning protection system includes a plurality of the structural reinforcing elements connected in an electrically conductive manner with each other and with a ground terminal. A lightning protection system for a wind turbine with a tower, a nacelle, a blade hub and a blade attached to the blade hub is provided. The lightning protection system includes an inner conductor inside the blade, an outer conductor arranged outside the blade and in electrical communication with the inner conductor, a collecting conductor arranged at the front end of the nacelle and in electrical communication with the outer conductor and a down-conductor connected to ground and in electrical communication with the collecting conductor. The outer conductor and the collecting conductor have substantially a same distance to the rotational axis. Further, a wind turbine with such a lightning protection system is provided.
