A method for writing data to a magnetic data storage medium includes detecting whether the duration, before occurrence of a data transition, of data to be written exceeds a predetermined threshold, and, when the duration, before the occurrence of the data transition, of the data to be written exceeds the predetermined threshold, writing the data by applying an initial pulse and then maintaining a steady-state write current for a defined interval, and when the duration, before the occurrence of the data transition, of the data to be written is at most equal to the predetermined threshold, writing the data by applying the initial pulse without applying a steady-state write current before the data transition. The predetermined threshold may be determined by size of a magnetic bubble formed when writing a single bit to the magnetic data storage medium. A subsequent pulse may be applied following the defined interval.

Disk writing mode providing main pole relaxation

Write apparatus for a disk drive includes a write head, write current circuitry connected to the write head for generating a steady-state write current, overshoot current circuitry connected to the write head for generating write current overshoot pulses, and a T-coil termination network between (a) the write current circuitry and the overshoot current circuitry, and (b) a first node connected to a first input of a transmission line together with the write head. The T-coil termination network may include a first inductor connected to the first node, a second inductor coupled with the first inductor at a second node, and a first termination resistor between the first inductor and a common voltage. An output of the overshoot current circuitry may be connected to the first node, and an output of the write current circuitry may be connected to the second node.

Bridged T-coil for increased bandwidth in hard disk drive write circuitry

A data delay circuit, for delaying a portion of a data signal for application to a write head of a hard disk drive, includes a data delay cell including two inverters and a charge current source for charging at least one of the inverters, and a bias circuit for programming delay of the data delay cell. The bias circuit is in current-mirroring relationship with the charge current source and includes a current-based digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for programmably selecting the delay of the data delay cell, and a reference current source for the DAC. The data delay cell and the bias circuit are subject to gain error, and the data delay circuit further includes compensation circuitry for reducing the effect of the gain error. The compensation circuitry may include replica charge current and reference current sources that are fed back through a gain cell.

A shut-off adjustment is determined based on a predetermined delay. The shut-off pulse is initiated at a time based on one bit period prior to the transition, adjusted by the shut-off adjustment. When the duration, before the transition, of the data to be written is at most equal to the predetermined threshold, the data is written by applying the initial pulse without applying a steady-state write current before the transition.

A method that generates binaural headphone playback signals given multiple audio source signals with an associated metadata and binaural room impulse response (BRIR) database, wherein the audio source signals are channel-based, object-based, or a mixture of both channel-based and object-based signals. The method includes parameterizing BRIR to be used for rendering, dividing each audio source signal to be rendered into a number of blocks and frames, and averaging the parameterized BRIR sequences. The method also includes downmixing the divided audio source signals using the diffuse blocks of BRIRs, and performing late reverberation processing on the downmixed version of the previous blocks of the audio source signals.

Fast binaural rendering apparatus and method for playing back of multiple audio sources

After molding a substrate located between first and second molds of a molding system, a used release film that is in contact with the substrate during molding is removed from the molding system with a gripper assembly, which is reciprocally movable between a retracted position outside the molding system and an extended position in a space between the first and second molds when the first and second molds are opened. A carriage mechanism on which the gripper assembly is mounted moves the gripper assembly towards the first or second mold until the gripper assembly contacts the used release film, before an actuator actuates the gripper assembly to clamp onto a part of the used release film. The carriage mechanism also conveys the gripper assembly away from the first mold or second mold to remove the used release film from the molding system.

A method generates binaural headphone playback signals given multiple audio source signals with associated metadata and a binaural room impulse response (BRIR) database, where the audio source signals can be channel-based, object-based, or a mixture of both signals. The method groups the audio source signals according to positions of the audio sources, divides BRIR into blocks and frames, where the BRIR is divided into a direct block and diffuse blocks, and divides each audio source signal into blocks and frames, wherein the source signal is divided into a current block and previous blocks, and the current block is further divided into the frames. The method further averages, for each of previous frames of the source signals, the divided BRIR identified with the grouping result by downmixing the previous frames of the source signals according to the grouping result, and performs a convolution with the downmixed previous frame.

Binaural rendering apparatus and method for playing back of multiple audio sources

A molding system for encapsulating electronic devices mounted on a substrate, the molding system comprising a first mold chase with a first mold chase surface and a second mold chase with a second mold chase surface opposite to the first mold chase surface, the first and second mold chase surfaces being operative to clamp onto the substrate and to apply a clamping pressure thereto. The molding system further comprises a first sensor located at a first position for determining a first relative distance between the substrate and a mold chase facing the substrate at the first position, and a second sensor located at a second position for determining a second relative distance between the substrate and a mold chase facing the substrate at the second position. The molding system also comprises a first actuator located adjacent to the first position and a second actuator located adjacent to the second position, wherein the first and second actuators are operative to adjust the first relative distance with respect to the second relative distance for applying a uniform clamping pressure onto the substrate.

The present disclosure relates to the design of a fast binaural rendering for multiple moving audio sources. This disclosure takes the audio source signals which can be object-based, channel-based or a mixture of both, associated metadata, user head tracking data and binaural room impulse response (BRIR) database to generate the headphone playback signals. The present disclosure applies a frame-by-frame binaural rendering module which takes parameterized components of BRIRs for rendering moving sources. In addition, the present disclosure applies hierarchical source clustering and downmixing in the rendering process to reduce computational complexity.

Aspects of the disclosure include a data storage controller that includes a main circuit, a synchronization circuit, and a detection circuit. The main circuit is configured to receive a test signal, generate a data signal based on the test signal, and generate a compensation signal based on the test signal and a phase shift selected from N predetermined phase shifts. N may be an integer greater than one. The synchronization circuit is configured to receive the data signal and the data compensation signal, and generate a delayed data signal and a latched compensation signal in response to the data signal. The detection circuit is configured to determine whether rising and falling edges of the latched compensation signal and corresponding rising and falling edges of the delayed data signal are synchronized.
