The invention relates to a prosthetic device (), in particular a foot prosthesis, for fitting leg amputees, with a universal joint mechanism (), which couples a shaft () with a treading attachment () through an articulation, wherein the universal joint mechanism () comprises a joint element () supported such that it is rotatable about a first rotational axis (C) and a second rotational axis (D) differing therefrom. For more accurate modeling of the natural gait of a healthy human foot, the invention provides that the universal joint mechanism () comprises a shaft-side joint fork () coupleable with the shaft () and a treading-side joint fork () coupled via the joint element () through an articulation with the shaft-side joint fork (), wherein the shaft-side joint fork () is swivellable about the first rotational axis (C) and the treading-side joint fork () about the second rotational axis (D) relative to the joint element (), and wherein the swivel movements of shaft-side and treading-side joint fork () relative to the joint element () are carried out against the resistance of at least one damping element () proximal to the joint element.

Prosthesis, in particular prosthetic foot

A device determines at least one characteristic point of a joint which joins together two limbs and is to be measured orthopedically comprising a first coupling element which may be positioned on a first limb adjoining the joint, a second coupling element which may be moved relative to the first coupling element and may be positioned on a second limb adjoining the joint, and a measuring device for determining the position of the first coupling element relative to the second coupling element. The measuring device has at least one reference point rigidly connected to one of the first and second coupling elements, and a reference point detection device rigidly connected to the respective other of the first and second coupling elements. During a movement of the first and second limbs with respect to one another the reference point detection device determines the at least one characteristic point.
