A method of producing a composite component, in which a hollow section is expanded, at least in regions, by internal high pressure. In a first step a region of the hollow section is expanded until it comes to lie against an edge region of a cavity of a combined hydroforming and injection mold. In a second step the cavity is filled with an injection molding compound. In a third step the hollow section, at least in regions, is expanded further, which increases the internal high pressure.

Method of producing a composite component

In a method and apparatus for producing a composite component comprising a hollow profile and at least one injection-molded element, a hollow profile () is formed by means of internal high pressure fluid forming and is encapsulated with an injection molding material to form the injection-molded element. The hollow profile is expanded by means of internal high pressure in a closed combination tool comprising an internal high pressure forming tool element and an injection molding tool element, before it is encapsulated. The hollow profile is pressed on the tool engraving only locally in the region of the location to be encapsulated, keeping the outlet of the injection molding channel opening into the tool engraving clear.

Composite component and a method and device for producing the composite component

In a method and apparatus for producing a composite component, a tubular hollow section blank is placed into a die cavity of a combination tool comprising an inner high-pressure shaping tool and an injection-molding tool. The combination tool is filled with a fluid in such a way that the blank is wetted from the inside by the fluid, and the ends of the combination tool are sealed by two axial molding plugs. The filled blank is then expanded under pressure . The finished hollow section is plastic-coated in the same tool. The hollow section is emptied after shaping in the sealed state, at least until it is no longer dripping, the pressurized fluid being expelled under pressure from the hollow section through at least one discharge channel formed in the axial molding plugs.

Method and apparatus for producing a composite component

A device for producing an essentially T-shaped hollow profile or a hollow profile provided with at least one branch. The device may have a multipart mold which is intended for internal high pressure forming, in which a hollow profile having at least one initially dome-like branch can be produced. The device may also have a tool at the branch, this tool being designed for opening the branch at the end face after the forming operation. The tool is designed as a cutting device having a parting slide displaceable essentially transversely to the axis of the branch.

Device for producing a hollow profile

In a method and a device for producing a circumferentially closed hollow profile, a hollow-profile blank is expanded by fluidic internal high pressure in an internal high-pressure forming tool, after which the hollow-profile blank assumes the final shape of the hollow profile. In order to make it possible in a simple manner to have a production of a hollow profile in which process reliability is ensured to a sufficient extent even in the case of high expansions of the hollow profile (higher than or equal to the breaking elongation of the material), during expansion, the hollow-profile blank is supported, on at least one partial circumferential region, by at least one diaphragm fastened to the inside, facing the blank, of the tool and capable of being acted upon by a controllable pressure acting from outside, the diaphragm shifting back elastically as expansion progresses, with the supporting pressure acting on the diaphragm being reduced at the same time.

Method for producing a circumferentially closed hollow profile and device for performing the method

A process is for producing a circumferentially closed hollow profile, which is of frustoconical form in sections, from a sheet-bar blank. To produce hollow profiles of this type, the sheet bar is cut to size so that a blank with a rectangular section and a ring segment, the summit of which adjoins the center of one side of the rectangle, while its outer arc, which faces the rectangle, is of approximately the same length as the length of the side of the rectangle, is formed, sheet-bar material also being left on the blank outside the summit, between the ring segment and the side of the rectangle, this material joining the ring segment with the side of the rectangle integrally at all locations and also joining the corners of ring segment and rectangle which are closest together, so as to form a rounded edge contour. Then the side edges of the blank are bent into abutment with one another about the longitudinal center axis of the blank. After the bending operation, the edges of the sheet-bar blank are joined together by a longitudinal seam weld, so as to form a preform of the hollow profile, which is then deformed into the final form by internal high-pressure fluid.

Process for producing a circumferentially closed hollow profile

The invention relates to a process and apparatus for manufacturing hollow sections with cross-sectional expansions in end portions thereof. A hollow blank is widened and calibrated by internal high pressure forming by means of a forming tool receiving it, and, after the calibration, is separated in the area of the widening while forming two hollow sections with cross-sectionally widened ends facing one another in the separated position. In order manufacture from a hollow blank hollow sections with the lowest possible reject rate and therefore in a reliable process, which are cross-sectionally widened on the end side by means of high degree for forming, the blank is widened while the forming tool is open and is simultaneously upset to form a rotationally symmetrical bulging hollow section by means of a pressure force which is axially directed from the outside to at least one of the two blank ends.
