A protective shield for a trimmer having a cutting head that is rotatable about an axis of rotation and supports a cutting thread that rotates about an axis of rotation with the cutting head and determines a cutting circle, covers at least partially the cutting circle. The protective cover has a base member and a cutting-to-length blade arranged on the base member so as to be positioned circumferentially relative to a cutting circle of the rotating cutting thread. The cutting-to-length blade has a cutting edge that, relative to the axis of rotation of the rotating cutting thread, is arranged in an axially displaced position displaced in an axial direction relative to the cutting circle. A device for axially deflecting the rotating cutting thread out of the cutting circle to the cutting edge is provided.

A hand-held power tool has an electric drive motor having a drive shaft and a tool connected to the drive shaft and rotatably driven by the drive shaft. The drive motor has a control device that has correlated therewith at least a first operating curve and a second operating curve. The control device operates the electric drive motor in idle according to the first operating curve and operates the electric drive motor under load according to the second operating curve. The first operating curve covers the low power range at low speed and the second operating curve covers a large power range at high speed.

A manually guided brushcutter or other trimmer having a guide tube that accommodates a transmission shaft, with a drive motor that drives the transmission shaft and a housing that secures the drive motor to the guide tube. The housing is embodied as a closed engine housing that surrounds the drive motor. The drive motor and the closed engine housing are interconnected at two spaced-apart securement points.

Manually guided trimmer

A mixture-lubricated internal combustion engine has a cylinder () in which a combustion chamber () is formed. The combustion chamber () is delimited by a piston () mounted to move back and forth. The piston () drives a crankshaft () rotatably journalled in a crankcase (). The engine has an inlet channel () which supplies fuel and combustion air into the combustion chamber () as well as an exhaust outlet () from which exhaust gases flow from the combustion chamber. The intake inlet () and the exhaust outlet () are valve controlled. A flow connection is present between the crankcase () and the inlet channel (). A good idle stability and a good idle acoustic of the engine are achieved in that at least one control valve () is mounted in the flow connection.

Mixture-lubricated internal combustion engine

A protective shield () is provided for a free-cutting tool (). The free-cutting tool has a cutterhead () rotatable about a rotational axis () and carries a cutting filament (). For a rotating cutterhead (), the cutting filament () rotates in a rotational direction (), aligns itself approximately radially to the rotational axis () and defines a cutting circle () having a constructively pregiven nominal radius (R). The cutting radius () is at least partially covered by the protective shield (). A cut-to-length knife () having a cutting edge () for cutting the cutting filament () to length is mounted on the protective shield () in the peripheral region thereof. The cut-to-length knife () is mounted on the protective shield () to be moveable back and forth between a cutting position () and a rest position (). The cutting edge () lies in the plane of the cutting circle () in the cutting position () and has the nominal radius (R) to the rotational axis () and, in the rest position (), the cutting edge () lies outside of the cutting circle ().

Protective shield for a free-cutting tool

In a coupling of an axle member to a vehicle leaf spring or a longitudinal link, the axle member is coupled to a vehicle leaf spring or a longitudinal link with spring/damper elements therebetween. Arranged between the axle member and the vehicle leaf spring or the longitudinal link are at least two spring/damper elements, which, in the direction of travel, are arranged in front of and behind the section of the axle member to which the leaf spring or the longitudinal link is coupled. The stiffness of the spring/damper elements is greater in the horizontal directions than in the vertical direction. Vibrations of the body of a vehicle with a rigid axle that are caused by the vehicle drive, irregularities in the roadway and unbalance of the wheels are minimized.

Coupling of an axle member to a vehicle leaf spring or a longitudinal link

A vibration-reducing control lever assembly which in one form comprises a knob, an elastomeric isolator coupled to the knob, and a lever coupled to the elastomeric isolator. The isolator acts as an intermediary between the lever and the knob and reduces vibrations transmitted from the lever to the knob. Thus, the knob is isolated from, rather than directly connected to, the lever. Alternative embodiments include a lever-receiving insert, one or more internal passageways which bypass the elastomeric isolator and a detachable hollow skirt. In some embodiments, the elastomeric isolator is captured and compressed by an isolator receiver.
