An apparatus comprises a plurality of pixels each including a conversion element and a switch, a driving circuit configured to control the switches via drive lines, a bias power supply unit configured to supply a bias potential to the conversion element via a bias line, column signal lines to which signals are output from the plurality of pixels, and a detection unit. The plurality of pixels include a first pixel and a second pixel, which are adjacent to each other in the row direction and are connected to a common column signal line. The switch of the first pixel and the switch of the second pixel are connected to drive lines different from each other. The detection unit determines presence/absence of radiation irradiation based on a current flowing to the bias line.

A busy time measurement unit measures a busy time which is a time required for access based on the request, for a selected memory which is one memory out of the plurality of memories. A clock signal adjustment unit substantially equalizes the measured busy time of the selected memory and a total time required for transferring the requests and the data for the plurality of memories except the selected memory by adjusting a frequency of the clock signal.

Disclosed herein is a storage device including: a communication execution unit configured to be capable of controlling an operation state between a communication-enabled state in which data communication is possible and a pause state in which data communication is impossible; a buffer configured to store data transmitted and received by the communication execution unit; a memory configured to be capable of storing data; a memory controller configured to carry out data input and output between the memory and the buffer; and a communication controller configured to make the communication execution unit operate if data communication is carried out, and make the communication execution unit take a pause if data communication is not carried out. The communication controller switches the operation state of the communication execution unit between the communication-enabled state and the pause state in data communication depending on a data processing state of the buffer.
