A disc brake for a commercial vehicle has a brake caliper, which straddles a brake disc and is designed as a sliding caliper and is fastened to a stationary brake carrier, two brake pads, which are arranged in the brake caliper and can be moved in opposite directions and which each have a backing plate and a friction lining fastened to the backing plate, of which brake pads an action-side brake pad can be pressed against the brake disc by an application device via a brake piston, and at least one restoring device, by which the brake caliper can be restored after a braking-related displacement and release of the brake. The disc brake is designed such that the restoring device has at least two rods, which lie against the brake pads with spring loading against the respective application directions of the brake pads, of which rods one is designed as a pulling rod and the other is designed as a pushing rod.

A self-igniting, mixture-compressing internal combustion engine for fuel gas includes a cylinder including a cylinder head (); an insert () operably engaged with the cylinder head (); a main combustion space () in the cylinder; and a prechamber () in the insert (). A low-pressure fuel line is connected to the main combustion space (). A nozzle () is at least partially disposed in the insert (). The nozzle () is operably connected to a high-pressure fuel line. The nozzle () is used to inject fuel gas into the prechamber (). At least one injection opening () for connects the prechamber () to the main combustion space () and passes the fuel gas from the prechamber () to the main combustion space ().

Self-igniting, mixture-compressing internal combustion engine and method for its operation

A gas engine has a control system having a pilot control device for adjusting the operating state of the engine in response to changes in limiting conditions that are monitored. The control system further includes a knock monitoring device which is superordinate with respect to the pilot control device when the operating state reach a minimum distance from the knocking limit of the gas engine. The knock monitoring device prevents the engine from being damaged from circumstance which can not be protected against via the pilot control device.

Gas engine

A reciprocating piston engine which is selectively operable in either a gas operation mode with a gaseous fuel or a diesel operation mode with a liquid fuel includes a main combustion chamber which has an inlet for receiving gas and/or air, an injection device and an outlet. At least one precombustion chamber is connected to the main combustion chamber by at least one precombustion chamber output that opens into said main combustion chamber. Each precombustion chamber has an applied-ignition device for igniting the contents of the precombustion chamber during gas operation. An optimization of exhaust gas values, particularly of the NO.sub.x concentrations, is attained by the applied-ignition device and a separate gas line for supplying the precombustion chamber with gas, thereby allowing a leaner fuel mixture to be used in the main combustion chamber.

Reciprocating piston engine

A combustion prechamber is formed by at least two components. An upper component for accommodating an injection device, for example, and a lower component for sealing the prechamber off from the main combustion chamber. To configure such a combustion pre-chamber such that, without impairing the combustion process and the service life, instead of being welded, the connecting seam between the upper component and the lower component is notch-free and, at the same time, has a high strength, and is produced by a brazing process.

Combustion prechamber

A gas engine with electronically controlled and/or regulated injection of relatively small quantities of injection oil in such a way as to improve the metering accuracy of the injection oil quantity, the flexibility with which the required ignition oil quantity is provided and the ability to freely preset the timing of ignition oil injection. The engine comprises a separate electronically controllable injection system for each cylinder including at least one ignition oil injection device 13 connected via an injection line 14 to a separate ignition oil hydraulic pump 16 which is in fluid communication with a pressure accumulator 15. An electronically controllable switching device 19 associated with the injection device 13 is electronically connected to an engine control device 20 that controls, regulates and monitors the ignition oil injection.
