A display device including a plurality of sub-pixel arrays is provided. Each of sub-pixel arrays includes a plurality of first sub-pixels, at least one second sub-pixel and at least one third sub-pixel. The first sub-pixels have a first color and form a plurality of vertexes of a virtual quadrilateral. There is not any other first sub-pixels having the first color located in the virtual quadrilateral. The second sub-pixel has a second color different from the first color and is located in the virtual quadrilateral. The third sub-pixel has a third color different from the first color and the second color and is located in the virtual quadrilateral.

Display device with novel sub-pixel configuration

A display panel including a plurality of sub-pixel repeating units is provided. The sub-pixel repeating units are repeatedly arranged on the display panel. Each of the sub-pixel repeating units includes at least one first color sub-pixel and at least one second color sub-pixel. On the display panel, the adjacent first color sub-pixels form a first polygon, and the adjacent second color sub-pixels form a second polygon. Display device and driving module thereof

A display panel including a plurality of sub-pixel groups is provided. The sub-pixel groups are arranged repeatedly to form a pixel array, and each of the sub-pixel groups is written by a plurality of pixel data. The sub-pixel group includes a plurality of main type pixel units and a plurality of sub type pixel units. Each of the main type pixel units is written by one pixel data among the plurality of pixel data, and each of the sub type pixel units is written by at least one pixel data among the plurality of pixel data. The main type pixel units are arranged to form a geometry form and the main type pixel units surround a single sub type pixel unit among the sub type pixel units.

Display panel

A display panel and a display driver are provided. The display panel includes a plurality of sub-pixel repeating units, which are arranged repeatedly to form a pixel array. Each row of the sub-pixel repeating unit includes an odd number of sub-pixels, where every two sub-pixels are regarded as one pixel unit, and another sub-pixel is added at the last column of the sub-pixel repeating unit. The odd-numbered sub-pixels are respectively written by N groups of pixel data. The amount of these sub-pixels is 2N+1, which is between two to two and a half times of the amount of the pixel data. Each odd-numbered column of the sub-pixel repeating unit includes the sub-pixels of two different colors, which are alternately arranged in each odd-numbered column.

Display panel and display driver

A display apparatus including a display panel and a display driver is provided. The display panel includes a sub-pixel repeat array. The sub-pixel repeat array is repeatedly arranged to form a pixel array on the display panel. The pixel array includes at least one map display unit. The display driver is coupled to the display panel. The display driver drives the display panel to display an image by using a sub-pixel rendering method. The image includes at least one specified intensity map. The map display unit includes a center sub-pixel unit and a plurality of neighboring sub-pixel units. The specified intensity map includes one or more white pixel points. In the map display unit, luminance summations of sub-pixels of different colors are equal. Furthermore, a display driving method is also provided.

Display apparatus and display driving method

A display device includes a plurality of sub-pixel groups. Each sub-pixel group includes a first sub-pixel located at a first column; a second sub-pixel located at a second column adjacent to the first column; a third sub-pixel located a third column adjacent to the second column; a fourth sub-pixel located at the third column; a fifth sub-pixel located at a fourth column adjacent to the third column; and a six sub-pixel located at the fourth column; wherein height of the first sub-pixel is different from or/equal to height of the second sub-pixel, a sum of heights of the third sub-pixel and the fourth sub-pixel, and a sum of heights of the fifth sub-pixel and the sixth sub-pixel; wherein height of the third sub-pixel is different from or equal to height of the fourth sub-pixel; wherein height of the fifth sub-pixel is different from or equal to height of sixth sub-pixel.

Display device having a plurality of sub-pixels with different heights and driving module thereof

A display driver configured to drive a display panel is provided. The display panel displays an image frame in a first display mode or a second display mode. The display driver includes a first display driving channel and a second display driving channel. The first and the second display driving channels are configured to drive the display panel to display the image frame by using a sub-pixel rendering method. In the second display mode, the second display driving channel drives sub-pixels on the display panel to display corresponding grayscales by using a plurality of gamma voltages. A voltage value of at least one gamma voltage among the gamma voltages is determined according to an arrangement of the sub-pixels on the display panel. Furthermore, a display apparatus is also provided.

Display driver and display apparatus using sub-pixel rendering method

A display panel including a plurality of sub-pixel groups arranged repeatedly to form a pixel array. Each of the sub-pixel groups includes a plurality of first pixel units, a plurality of second pixel units and a plurality of third pixel units. Each of the first pixel units includes a first color sub-pixel and a second color sub-pixel, each of the second pixel units includes the second color sub-pixel and a third color sub-pixel, and each of the third pixel units includes the first color sub-pixel and the third color sub-pixel. The first color sub-pixel, the second color sub-pixel and the third color sub-pixel are sub-pixels having three different colors. At least a part of the first pixel units and at least a part of the second pixel units are arranged along a first direction, and the first direction is tilted relative to a column direction of the pixel array.

A display device with a plurality of sub-pixel groups is disclosed.
