The method comprises: providing a specimen to be observed; providing a carbon nanotube array comprising a plurality of carbon nanotubes; and pulling a carbon nanotube film from the carbon nanotube array, and laying the carbon nanotube film on a surface of the specimen, wherein the carbon nanotube film comprising a plurality of through holes.

Carbon nanotube device

A torsion balance is provided which includes a twisting wire and a reflector. The twisting wire is a suspended carbon nanotube. The reflector is hung on the twisting wire. The reflector further includes a film, a first reflecting layer, and a second reflecting layer; and the film includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and the first reflecting layer is located on the first surface and the second reflecting layer is located on the second surface.

A nanofiber actuator comprises a composite structure and a vanadium dioxide layer. The composite structure comprises a carbon nanotube wire and an aluminum oxide layer. The aluminum oxide layer is coated on a surface of the carbon nanotube wire, and the aluminum oxide layer and the carbon nanotube wire are located coaxially with each other. A device for detecting energy beam is provided. The device comprises a carbon nanotube structure, a support structure and an infrared detector. The carbon nanotube structure comprises a plurality of carbon nanotubes, and an extending direction of each carbon nanotube is parallel to a direction of an energy beam to be detected. The support structure is configured to support the carbon nanotube structure, and make a portion of the carbon nanotube structure suspended in the air. The infrared detector is located below and spaced apart from the carbon nanotube structure. The infrared detector is configured to detect a temperature of a suspended portion of the carbon nanotube structure, and image according to a temperature distribution of the carbon nanotube structure. A method for detecting energy beam is also provided.

A method for obtaining metallic carbon nanotubes is provided. An insulating substrate comprising hollow portions and non-hollow portions is provided. A plurality of electrodes is formed on a surface of the non-hollow portions. A plurality of carbon nanotubes is formed on a surface of the insulating substrate, and the carbon nanotubes stretch across the hollow portions. The insulating substrate, the plurality of electrodes and the carbon nanotubes are placed into a cavity, and the cavity is evacuated. A voltage is applied between any two electrodes, and photos of carbon nanotubes suspended between the two electrodes are taken. In the photo, darker ones are semiconducting carbon nanotubes, and brighter ones are metallic carbon nanotubes. Finally, the semiconducting carbon nanotubes are removed.

Method for obtaining metallic carbon nanotube

A method of making carbon nanotubes is provided, the method includes depositing a catalyst layer on a substrate, placing the substrate having the catalyst layer in a reaction furnace, heating the reaction furnace to a predetermined temperature, introducing a carbon source gas and a protective gas into the reaction furnace to grow a first carbon nanotube segment structure comprising a plurality of metallic carbon nanotube segments, and applying a pulsed electric field to grow a second carbon nanotube segment structure from the plurality of metallic carbon nanotube segments, where the pulsed electric field is a periodic electric field including a plurality of positive electric field pulses and a plurality of negative electric field pulses alternately arranged, and the second carbon nanotube segment structure includes a plurality of semiconducting carbon nanotube segments.
