A hub system control method, for controlling a hub which has a maximum bandwidth and is connected to a plurality of monitors, comprising: acquiring resolutions and refresh rates of each one of the monitors by the hub; computing used bandwidths of each one of the monitors according to the resolutions and the refresh rates; and controlling the hub to operate corresponding to at least one relation between the used bandwidths and the maximum bandwidth.

A switching device includes multimedia input interfaces for respectively receiving multiple multimedia signals, a switching unit electrically connected to the multimedia input interfaces, a multimedia output interface, an electrical characteristics modulator, and a controller. The switching unit outputs a selected multimedia signal according to a first control signal. The multimedia output interface includes a multimedia signal terminal for outputting the selected multimedia signals and a non-signal terminal. The electrical characteristics modulator changes an electrical characteristic of the non-signal terminal according to a second control signal. The controller is controlled to generate the first and the second control signals through a video switching method whereby the electrical characteristics modulator changes the electrical characteristic of the non-signal terminal thereby increasing compatibility between the switching device and a multimedia output device.

A method for increasing compatibility of DisplayPort includes: providing a first source device, a second source device, a controller, and a sink device, wherein the first source device is connected to the controller; the first source device transmitting a first image signal to the sink device via a main link for displaying the first image signal on the sink device; causing the controller to disconnect from the first source device and connect to the second source device; executing a simulation process to generate a DC level variation on an auxiliary channel between the controller and the sink device; the second source device transmitting auxiliary data to the sink device; the sink device transmitting link data back to the second source device; and the second source device transmitting a second image signal to the sink device via a second main link for displaying the second image signal on the sink device.
