A welding tool for welding a blanking plate within a wellbore casing downhole thereby sealing the wellbore is described. The tool comprises a tubular body of a diameter sufficiently narrow to fit in a wellbore casing, the tubular body having a downhole end and a surface end; and a welding head assembly connected to the downhole end of the tubular body. The welding head assembly comprises a connector device for retaining a blanking plate to be welded within the wellbore casing, and a welding powder container which comprises a chamber for holding the exothermic welding powder, the chamber having at least a portion extending adjacent the blanking plate to be retained and proximate the wellbore casing to which the blanking plate is to be welded when the tool is positioned downhole in the wellbore casing; and an igniter wire opening for accommodating an igniter wire extending into the chamber.

Downhole welding process and tool therefore

A waterjet cutting tool for radial connection to a wellbore casing for cutting the wellbore casing or associated components thereof is disclosed herein. The waterjet cutting tool comprises a waterjet nozzle for outputting a cutting solution at high pressure, the waterjet nozzle for connection to a cutting solution source; a radial adjustment unit for radially associating the waterjet nozzle to the wellbore; and an annular adjustment assembly for mount of the waterjet nozzle thereto, for allowing annular movement of the waterjet nozzle about a vertical axis of the wellbore.

A fluid squeegee comprises nozzles in the squeegee head for spraying a fluid, such as water, onto a surface to be cleaned and a squeegee blade on the squeegee head for clearing away the fluid from the surface. A molded unit for the squeegee head includes a channel shaped mounting plate having a web portion between a lower flange portion and an upper flange portion. A squeegee blade is adapted to be mounted to the lower flange portion and nozzles are adapted to be mounted in the mounting plate or in a nozzle plate that is fixed over an aperture in the mounting plate. Hollow brace members and a hollow shaft socket are positioned on the intake side of the mounting plate. The hollow shaft socket includes discharge ports that are aligned with the hollow brace members, which extend radially away from the nozzle. The hollow brace members enclose the nozzles so as to create a sealed fluid passageway between the hollow shaft socket and the nozzles. The fluid squeegee further includes a hollow shaft and hollow handle, which are connected between a hose and the squeegee head such that fluids can be sprayed onto a surface to be cleaned via the nozzles. The hollow brace members are beneficial in that they provide additional structural support between the head and a hollow fluid shaft inserted into the socket.

A fluid squeegee head for a fluid squeegee is provided which includes a mounting plate having apertures defined therein for attaching a squeegee blade thereto. The mounting plate further includes nozzles extending therethrough. Hollow brace members and a hollow shaft socket are positioned on the intake side of the mounting plate. The hollow shaft socket includes discharge ports that are aligned with the hollow brace members which extend away radially. The hollow brace members enclose the nozzles so as to create a sealed fluid passageway between the hollow shaft socket and the nozzles. The fluid squeegee further includes a hollow shaft and hollow handle which are connected between a hose and the sgueegee head such that fluids can be discharged onto a surface to be cleaned via the nozzles.
