An audio system is provided. The audio system includes a plurality of loudspeakers and a mobile device. The plurality of loudspeakers is capable of being positioned in a listening environment and being arranged to transmit an audio signal in the listening environment. Each loudspeaker is programmed to determine angle information of the audio signal as received at the loudspeaker relative to other loudspeakers of the plurality of loudspeakers and to transmit a first signal indicative of the angle information. The mobile device is programmed to receive the first signal from each of the loudspeakers and to determine a location for each loudspeaker in the listening environment based at least on the angle information.

System and/or method for loudspeaker auto calibration and loudspeaker configuration layout estimation

An audio system is provided that includes a first loudspeaker and a second loudspeaker. The first loudspeaker transmits an audio signal including audio data and a signature tone into a listening environment. The second loudspeaker includes at least one controller programmed to receive the audio signal including the audio data and the signature tone and to determine a direction of arrival (DOA) of the audio signal as received at the second loudspeaker based at least on the signature tone. The at least one controller is further programmed to perform a time frequency masking operation on the received audio signal prior to determining the DOA of the audio signal.

Apparatus, system and/or method for noise time-frequency masking based direction of arrival estimation for loudspeaker audio calibration

An audio system is provided that includes a loudspeaker, at least one microphone, and at least one controller. The loudspeaker transmits an audio signal into a listening environment defined by at least one wall in a room. The at least one microphone is positioned on the loudspeaker and is configured to capture a reverberated audio signal including a plurality of reverberations and a plurality of peaks. The reverberated audio signal is indicative of the audio signal being reflected from the at least one wall. The at least one controller is programmed to apply a confidence score to the plurality of peaks to obtain a maximum score which is indicative of a maximum peak of the audio signal that is reflected from the at least one wall and determine a distance between the loudspeaker and the wall based at least on the maximum score.

In at least one embodiment, an audio system is provided. At least one controller is programmed to encode a first and second audio component and to generate a first and a second encoded audio component. The at least one controller is programmed to apply a first gain to at least one of the first encoded audio component and the second encoded audio component to generate at least one of a first and second increased encoded audio component and to decode the at least one of the first and the second increased encoded audio component to generate at least one of a first and second decoded audio component. The at least one controller is further programmed to amplitude pan the at least one of the first and the second decoded audio component to increase a stereo width for an audio output transmitted by a first loudspeaker and a second loudspeaker.

In at least one embodiment, a system for synchronizing an audio stream is provided. The system includes a first loudspeaker and an audio controller. The first loudspeaker plays back a first audio output signal including first signature information. The audio controller provides a first audio input signal and superimpose the first signature information on the first audio input signal. The audio controller receives the first audio output signal including the first audio packets and the first signature information and to detect the first signature information. The audio controller determines a delay attributed to a transmission of the first audio input signal and the first audio output signal based on the first signature information and synchronizes the transmission of a second audio input signal from the audio controller to the first loudspeaker with the playback of another audio output signal from a second loudspeaker based at least on the delay.
