An electronic device may include a processor, a plurality of transceivers, and a memory in communication with the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the electronic device to perform functions of while a first transceiver is active, identifying, from among the plurality of transceivers and based on signal quality, current temperature, and cooling capacity of each of the plurality of transceivers, a second transceiver to handover transmission of signal to from the first transceiver, and handing over transmission of the signal from the first transceiver to the identified second transceiver.

Intelligently selecting active transceiver in a multi-transceiver device

A hinged mobile computing device includes a first housing part and a second housing part coupled by a hinge assembly having a harness, a harness cover, a first hinge body, and a second hinge body. The harness is configured to accommodate flexible printed circuitry and a cable that extend from the first housing part to the second housing part via the hinge assembly. The hinge bodies include respective friction bands, each friction band being configured to engage a respective shaft formed on the harness and having a gear configured to mesh with a respective cog arranged within the harness cover to coordinate a timing of the rotation of the first and second housing parts between face-to-face and back-to-back orientations. The hinge assembly further includes a spring-loaded opening mechanism.

Hinge assembly for mobile computing device

A hinged mobile computing device includes a first housing part with a first display and a second housing part with a second display. The first and second housing parts are coupled by a hinge assembly that includes a spring-loaded opening mechanism configured to bias with a biasing torque the first housing part and second housing part to rotate away from each other when the first and second displays are in a closed face-to-face orientation. An electro-magnetic closure system is configured to retain the first and second displays in the closed face-to-face orientation against the biasing torque of the spring-loaded opening mechanism, and release of the electro-magnetic closure system permits the first housing part to rotationally separate from the second housing part to a predetermined angular orientation due to the biasing force of the spring-loaded opening mechanism.

Examples are disclosed relating to foldable display devices and methods for folding a display device through a range of degrees at a folding portion. In one example, a display device comprises a rear cover and a cover glass layer extending from a left side of the display device through the folding portion to a right side. A light-emitting layer is between the rear cover and the cover glass layer. A backplate is between the rear cover and the light-emitting layer, with the backplate comprising backplate slots that extend from an upper surface through a lower surface to facilitate bending of the backplate.

A hinge for a foldable electronic device includes a spine, a first hinge guide, a second hinge guide, and a display support. The first hinge guide is rotatably connected to the spine around a first axis. The second hinge guide rotatably connected to the spine around a second axis. The display support is connected to the first hinge guide in a first track and connected to the second hinge guide by a second track. A translational position of the display support relative to the spine is related to a first rotational position of the first hinge guide relative to the spine and a second rotational position of the second hinge guide relative to the spine.
