A sound output system includes a receiving apparatus comprising receiving circuitry configured to receive a user input; and a sound apparatus comprising circuitry configured to receive the user input from the receiving apparatus and perform an operation based on the user input received from the receiving apparatus. The sound apparatus may include a sound outputter comprising sound output circuitry; a first communicator comprising communication circuitry configured to communicate with the receiving apparatus; and a controller configured to control the sound apparatus to perform the operation based on a command received from the receiving apparatus through the first communicator. The receiving apparatus is removably attachable to the sound apparatus. The sound apparatus is configured to perform different operations depending on different attachment positions of the receiving apparatus, in response to the same user input.

Sound output system and voice processing method

An optical disc drive and a control method thereof are disclosed to prevent unstable servo-control of a pickup module caused by an abnormal control signal, when recording/reproducing/erasing of information on/from an optical disc in the optical disc drive, and in particularly, possible collision between the pickup module and the optical disc, even when the pickup module very closely approaches the surface of the optical disc during recording/reproducing/erasing of information on/from a high density optical disc. The optical disc drive includes a pickup module having an objective lens focusing a laser on the surface of a recording layer of the optical disc, and a servo-controlling unit performing the focus servo-control of the pickup module using a high frequency broadband control and a low frequency broadband control of a focus error signal where the high frequency broadband control is performed prior to the frequency broadband control.

Optical disc drive and control method thereof

An optical disc apparatus and a focusing method for the same prevent a focusing start error of an optical pickup when using a ring-shaped lens to handle multiple wavelengths, and allow the optical pickup to start focusing at the correct starting time. To write and/or read data to and/or from an optical disc, an optical pickup in the optical disc apparatus emits a laser beam to the disc through an objective lens, and reads a reflected beam to output a read signal. The optical pickup outputs a signal based on the read reflected beam. An actuator controls the position of the objective lens so that the laser beam is focused on a surface of the disc. A focusing controller performs focusing operations on the actuator using a focus error signal generated from the signal outputted from the optical pickup. A focusing start time detector processes the read signal used to generate the focus error signal and detects when to start the focusing control of the focusing controller.

Optical disc apparatus and focusing method for the same

An apparatus and method to accurately discriminate an optical disc type in an optical disc system which records and/or reproduces data to and/or from high density optical discs and low density optical discs includes irradiating a laser beam onto a given one of the optical discs, measuring a track error signal generated from light reflected by the given optical disc, comparing a level of the track error signal with a predetermined reference value, and discriminating a type of the given optical disc according to a comparison result.
