A system comprising a primary electrical device, such as a shaver, and an auxiliary electrical device, such as a shaver cleaner, defining a receiving arrangement for receiving the primary electrical device. The primary electrical device includes a first connector configured to couple with an associated connector of the auxiliary device to transmit electrical or electromagnetic energy between the devices. The primary electrical device includes an additional connector configured to couple the primary electrical device for receiving electrical or electromagnetic energy, such as from an electric mains voltage.

An electric-powered shaving apparatus with a drive part excitable by an electric motor into performing an oscillatory motion, the drive part transmitting its motion for cutting hairs to a short-hair cutter and to a long-hair trimmer. The long-hair trimmer is displaceable relative to the housing into an advanced and a retracted position. The motion of the drive part for the short-hair cutter is utilized for moving the long-hair trimmer into the advanced position.

Electric shaving apparatus

A cleaning device for the shaving head of a dry shaving apparatus includes a receptacle formed in a housing of the cleaning device. The receptacle adapted to receive the shaving head for cleaning with a cleaning fluid. During the cleaning cycle, the dry shaving apparatus is lockable in the cleaning device by means of an interlock. The shaving head is exposed to heat from a heater for drying subsequent to cleaning. Following a drying cycle, release of the interlock is controlled by a control element provided in the cleaning device to prevent an operator's skin from being burned by an excessively hot shaving head in an immediately succeeding shaving operation.

A cleaning device for the shaving head of a dry shaving apparatus includes a receptacle having a reservoir adapted to receive the a shaving head and a pump to transfer a cleaning fluid from the reservoir and into the receptacle. A controllable drain disposed between a lower region of the receptacle and the reservoir redirects cleaning fluid away from the reservoir until needed thereby prolonging the time for which the cleaning fluid is in contact with the shaving head to be cleaned.

A shaving system for a dry shaver has at least one long-hair cutter arranged between shaving units for short-hair cutting. The shaving units for short-hair cutting each include an upper blade and a lower blade, which can be moved relative to one another by a drive. The long-hair cutter is formed from at least two cutting elements that can be moved relative to one another and are arranged one beside the other. The cutting elements of the long-hair cutter are each of comb-like design, and their rows of cutting teeth, which are formed by tines, are oriented essentially perpendicularly to the skin which is to be shaved.
