A vacuum handling device comprises includes a vacuum source having a suction nozzle means () operating on the ejector principle and furthermore a suction gripper () which possesses a gripper part () connected with the suction side of the suction nozzle (). The housing of the vacuum source () and of the suction gripper () constitute a housing unit (), the gripper part () being adjustably mounted on the housing unit () for setting in the acting suction direction () thereof.

A vacuum producing device () possessing a principal suction nozzle unit () with a shut off valve () on the upstream side thereof and an additional suction nozzle unit () connected in parallel to the principal suction nozzle unit (). While the supply of pressure medium for the principal suction nozzle unit () is controlled in a manner dependent on the negative pressure produced by controlling the shut off valve (), the additional suction nozzle unit () remains () constantly in operation. This means that a complete build up of vacuum may be ensured in conjunction with a complete switching off of the principal suction nozzle unit () together with a resulting air economizing effect.

Vacuum producing device

A plurality of vacuum producing units capable of being employed together or independently of each other, each have a housing. The housing is internally provided with at least one ejector receiving means fitted with an ejector insert. The housings have the same transverse dimensions of at least one ejector receiving means. Individual vacuum producing units are fitted with different types of ejector inserts in the ejector receiving means for setting different fluid flow paths.
