An inorganic red pigment is provided which pigment comprises titanium oxide, tin oxide, zinc oxide, and tungsten oxide, wherein the molar ratios of the oxides correspond to a composition of formula(TiO)(SnO)(ZnO)(WO)&#x2003;&#x2003;(I), whereinSnOcomprises SnO and SnOin a molar ratio of SnO:SnOof from 70:30 to 100:0; 0.8&#x2266;a&#x2266;3.0; 0.3&#x2266;b&#x2266;2.0; 0.3&#x2266;c&#x2266;1.3; and 0.01&#x2266;d&#x2266;0.8. Optionally, SiO, other metal oxides or metal sulfides may be present. The inorganic pigment may be used as colorant in various applications.

A separating device () for separating particles able to be magnetized and particles not able to be magnetized transported in a suspension flowing through a separating channel (), has at least one permanent magnet () arranged on at least one side of the separating channel () for producing a magnetic field gradient which deflects particles able to be magnetized to said side, wherein a yoke () is provided for closing the magnetic circuit from the permanent magnet () to the side of the separating channel () opposite the permanent magnet () and/or between two permanent magnets ().
