The invention relates to an operating medium tank () for a drive unit (), especially for an internal combustion engine () of a portable handheld work apparatus. The tank () has a fill opening () and a output opening () in the housing wall () of the tank. According to the invention, at least one base () having a lug () is formed as one piece from the housing wall () in order to configure the tank so as to be operationally safe and easy to assemble. The tank () can be fixed with the aid of the lug () so as to be form-tight and separable on a receptacle () of the drive unit ().
