A surgical tool of a surgical torque-transferring instrument includes a distal engagement segment or tool head which is adjoined by a tool shaft whose proximal end portion is prepared for a torque-transferring insertion into a tool mounting of the instrument. The proximal end portion is subdivided at least in a functional section for torque transmission and a functional section for axial locking which is axially spaced from the functional section for torque transmission. The functional section for axial locking, with respect to its geometry, includes parameters which are intended to be changed and cooperate according to the key/keyhole principle only with one tool mounting including corresponding geometrical mating parameters for a correct mounting of the tool.

Surgical torque-transferring instrument set and associated tool set

A coil former for an electric motor, in particular a high-speed surgical motor, in which a rotor is surrounded concentrically by the substantially hollow-cylindrical coil former, carries at least one stator winding. To ensure that as narrow an air gap as possible is permanently maintained between the coil former, which is preferably produced using an injection-molding method often with complex shaping, and a rotor, which runs in the coil former, the coil former is formed either by a non-conductive fully ceramic body, or is in the form of a composite body in which at least one dimension-stabilizing frame element is embedded by injection-molding with plastic in a plastic body which is preferably produced by injection molding.

Surgical motor

A surgical torque-transferring instrument includes a preferably universal handpiece to which a handpiece shaft having an internal torsion rod or an internal tool shaft can be connected. The torsion rod can be connected to a torque transmission train or drive within the handpiece via a plug-type coupling which includes a male and female coupling piece which can be axially plugged into each other. The cross-sectional shape of the two coupling pieces approximately corresponds to a four-leaved cloverleaf.

A chip-removing tool of a surgical torque-transferring instrument includes a distal engagement segment which is adjoined by a tool shaft whose proximal end portion is prepared for a torque-transferring insertion into a tool mounting of the instrument. The proximal end portion is subdivided at least in a functional section 'torque transmission' and a functional section 'axial locking' which is axially spaced therefrom. The functional section &#x201c;axial locking&#x201d; is arranged with respect to the engagement segment so as to be proximal relative to the functional section &#x201c;torque transmission&#x201d;.

Surgical, torque-transferring instrument including an associated tool

A surgical instrument includes a handpiece to which a handpiece shaft can be flanged, and a tool mounting for receiving a tool which can be rotatably supported in the handpiece shaft for axially securing the tool in the tool mounting and for transferring a torque to the tool. The tool mounting includes a sleeve-shaped entrainment shaft with a plug-in zone for a torsion rod and torque transmission and axial locking zones for the tool. The tool mounting also includes a closure sleeve surrounding the entrainment shaft that includes a distal blocking section which acts on the axial locking zone of the entrainment shaft for axially locking and releasing the tool, and a proximal arresting section acting on the plug-in zone of the entrainment shaft for arresting the tool mounting on the torsion rod to transfer torques and axial forces and for releasing the tool mounting from the torsion rod.
