A shaking unit for the generation of one-dimensional oscillating movements of a machine part mass is provided having a coupling part for mechanical coupling to the machine part mass, a counter-mass which is coupled resiliently to the coupler part and, via the latter, to the machine part mass, and a drive system which acts in a sprung manner between the coupler part and the counter-mass. The coupling part may surround the counter-mass as a frame. At least one of two pneumatic springs of the drive system, which are arranged on both sides of the counter-mass, is loaded with a minimum and/or with a maximum load pressure of the pneumatic springs depending on an oscillation state.

Water draining device for a paper machine or the like, in particular for a felted press of such a paper machine, including a receiving tank extending at least essentially over the machine width. The receiving tank includes a first chamber that receives arriving water and is under ambient pressure, and a second chamber that is connected to the first chamber and is under vacuum, into which the water collecting in the first chamber is aspirated and from which the water is eventually drained. A water receiving device of improved efficiency is also provided by forming a water receiving device by at least one suction channel projecting into the wedge-shaped area between the upper press roll and the dewatering belt, and extending transverse to the pulp web, which suction channel is connected to a source of reduced pressure.

Water draining device

A suction box coordinated with a dandy roll and serving the dehydration of paper webs features on its ends respective deckle slides wherein each deckle slide is of a design such that it elastically yields to the peripheral face of the dandy roll. Each deckle slide is wear-resistant and adaptable to varying dandy roll diameters and dipping depths. Thus, each deckle slide comprises a lamella package which extends with its longitudinal axis in the direction of web travel. The lamella package includes a plurality of parallel, rigid lamellae shiftable relative to one another and lying in respective planes extending generally perpendicular to the direction of web travel.
