A retaining module () for retaining an earpiece in an ear comprises an annular sleeve () having a central aperture () adapted for receiving and holding at least a part of the earpiece. The retaining module () further comprises a first retaining member () adapted for engaging at least a part of the concha of the ear and having a proximal end () connected to said annular member () at a first location, and a strut member () having a proximal end () connected to said annular member () at a second location, and a distal end connected () to the distal end () of said first retaining member (). The invention further provides a hearing aid comprising a retaining module, and a method of manufacturing a combination of a retaining module and an earpiece.

Retaining module for the earpiece of a hearing aid

A hearing aid earpiece () is provided, that is custom fitted to the individual shape of the ear canal of a user and manufactured in a rapid prototyping process. The earpiece comprises a sound conduit () that is adapted for conveying an acoustic signal from an acoustic inlet port towards an acoustic outlet port and wherein the sound conduit is looped such that at least one geometrical plane will intersect the sound conduit at least three times thereby providing a length of the sound conduit exceeding a largest outer dimension of the hearing aid earpiece. The invention also relates to a hearing aid comprising such a hearing aid earpiece and a method for manufacturing such an earpiece.

Hearing aid part

A modular hearing aid for arrangement in a user's ear comprises a hollow plug () adapted to the ear canal and having a generally irregular conical shape and an exterior opening which is covered by a faceplate (), in which a recess () is formed for removable arrangement of a battery () as well as an electronic module () comprising a microphone part (), a signal processing part () and a sound reproducer (). The recess () comprises a first region () for insertion of the battery () and a second region () coherent with the first region for placing of a socket part () of the electronic module (), and at the edge of the recess () the faceplate () is formed with engaging means () for the socket part (), whereas further parts of the electronic module () are placed below the faceplate (). The recess () is formed such that at removal of the battery () the first and second regions () together allow passage also of said further parts () for removal of the complete electronic module.
