A method and a magnetic resonance apparatus compensate for inhomogeneities in a magnetic field generated by the magnetic resonance apparatus with a shim coil of the magnetic resonance apparatus. The shim coil is arranged at an object under investigation. A position and an orientation of the shim coil are automatically determined. The inhomogeneities of the magnetic field are determined. The inhomogeneities are compensated for via the shim coil depending on the position and the orientation of the shim coil.

Method, system and magnetic resonance apparatus for compensating for inhomogeneities in the magnetic field

An accessory comprises at least one first electrical accessory port for connection to a respective matching electrical coil port of an MR coil and at least one second electrical accessory port for connection to a respective matching electrical device port of an MR device. The first accessory port and the second accessory port do not match one another. The respective first accessory port is connected to the associated second accessory port by electrical adaptation.

A local screen screens out magnetic resonance signals of an object under examination during magnetic resonance imaging with a magnetic resonance device. The local screen includes a plurality of electrically conductive local screen elements that are arranged such that no direct electrically conductive connection pertains between the local screen elements. The local screen further includes a carrier device for accommodating the local screen elements and a number of switching devices that are connected in an electrically conductive manner to the local screen element, and are embodied such that the electrical resistance may be controlled by a number of screen control signals. In addition, the local screen includes a number of screen control signal inputs for the number of screen control signals.

Local screen and method for the screening out of magnetic resonance signals

A printed circuit board (PCB) is flat, providing a top side and a bottom side. A plurality of terminations is disposed on the top side in proximity to one end face of the PCB. Each termination has at least one contact that is connected to a respective conductor track of the PCB. The respective conductor track is connected to a respective local coil or to a contact disposed on the top side or the bottom side of a respective further termination. The local coil and/or at least one of the further terminations are disposed in proximity to the other end face. A basic shield impervious to frequencies in a magnetic resonance range is disposed on the top side and/or the bottom side, and an auxiliary shield electrically connected to the basic shield and impervious to frequencies in the magnetic resonance range is disposed on narrow sides of the PCB.

The present embodiments relate to a local coil for a magnetic resonance tomography system. The local coil extends in a first direction and in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The local coil has a plurality of coil elements. At least some coil elements of the plurality overlap at least partly in a third direction running between the first direction and the second direction.
