A stereoscopic image display device and a method of driving the same are provided. The stereoscopic image display device includes: a display panel; a patterned retarder transmitting light from the display panel as first and second polarization components; a data driving circuit driving data lines of the display panel; a gate driving circuit driving gate lines of the display panel; a 3D formatter: separating input 3D image signal into first and second eye image data; and arranging the first and second eye image data according to a vertical k-divisional operation to generate an original frame; and a timing controller: dividing one frame into k sub-fields with time-divisional driving; and controlling the data driving circuit and the gate driving circuit such that: the first eye image data are displayed in odd-numbered sub-fields with spatial-divisional driving; and the second eye image data are displayed in even-numbered sub-fields with spatial-divisional driving.

Stereoscopic image display device using spatial-divisional driving and method of driving the same

Provided are a display device, a scan driver, and a method of manufacturing the same. A scan driver includes: a level shifter configured to output a power and a signal, and a scan signal generating circuit configured to generate a scan signal based on the power and the signal supplied from the level shifter, the scan signal generating circuit including a buffer configured to transmit a clock signal to a stage of a shift register, the buffer including two inverters, one of the two inverters being included in a multi-buffer.

Display device, scan driver, and method of manufacturing the same

A light valve panel and a liquid crystal display using the same are discussed. The light valve panel according to an embodiment includes a transparent electrode layer having a plurality of blocks supplied with a voltage through data input lines. The transparent electrode layer has a low resistance or has a high resistance. When a transparent electrode layer has low resistance, each block is divided into a plurality of segment electrodes connected through a resistance pattern. A voltage is distributed to the plurality of segment electrodes of each block based on the resistance pattern. When a transparent electrode layer has high resistance, the voltage distribution in each block is based on a resistance difference that varies based on a distance between voltage feeding positions.

Light valve panel and liquid crystal display using the same

A display device can include a display panel having first and second panel blocks, a switching element that selectively connects a first data line formed in the first panel block and a second data line formed in the second panel block, a gate driver that feeds a gate pulse to gate lines formed in the first and second panel blocks, a first data driver that feeds a data voltage to the first data line, a second data driver that feeds a data voltage to the second data line, and a dimming-proof part that controls the operation timing of the switching element.

Liquid crystal display for reducing distortion of common voltage

A liquid crystal display is disclosed. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel on which a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines are positioned to cross one another and a plurality of liquid crystal cells driven according to a voltage difference between a data voltage and a common voltage are positioned in a matrix format, a side printed circuit board (PCB) connected to the side of the liquid crystal display panel, and a DC to DC converter that is mounted on the side PCB to produce a driving voltage of the liquid crystal display panel.

An image display device comprises a liquid crystal display panel, panel driving circuits, a backlight configured to include a plurality of light source blocks, and a controller configured to modulate input data to generate image data synchronized with N multiple frame frequency, control the panel driving circuits such that same image data are displayed every two consecutive frame periods, control the light source blocks to be sequentially turned on during a light source scanning period, and control the light source blocks to be simultaneously turned off during a light source blinking period between neighboring light source scanning periods.

A liquid crystal display is disclosed. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal module including a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight unit underlying the liquid crystal display panel and a printed circuit board (PCB) connected to the liquid crystal display panel through one of a tape carrier package (TCP), on which integrated circuits (ICs) are mounted, and a flexible circuit board. An edge of the liquid crystal module has an inclined surface inclined at an angle smaller than 90&#xb0; from one of a top surface and a bottom surface of the liquid crystal module. The PCB is faced to the inclined surface.
