A radio device in a communication network comprises an embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card. The radio device stores a device fall-back policy based on a fall-back policy message received from a connectivity service platform that is separate from the radio device and in the communication network. The radio device receives, from the connectivity service platform, an event message indicating disablement, deactivation, or termination of a subscription of the radio device with a network operator. The event message is received from the connectivity service platform via a wireless network connection of the subscription. Responsive to determining that the radio device will lose the wireless network connection of the subscription due to the disablement, deactivation, or termination, the radio device obtains a different wireless network connection for the radio device using a different subscription by falling back in accordance with the stored fall-back policy.

Event based eUICC fall-back

The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a connectivity service platform () in a communication network (). The method comprises receiving a request message () from a radio device () via a wireless network connection of a second subscription of the radio device. The method also comprises observing that the connectivity service platform is not enabled to communicate with the radio device via the wireless network connection of the second subscription. The method also comprises determining that the received request message is associated with a fall-back attribute. The method also comprises activating the second subscription in the connectivity service platform in response to the received request message, thereby enabling the connectivity service platform to communicate with the radio device via the wireless network connection of said second subscription of the radio device.

Subscription fall-back in a radio communication network

A method is described herein that is performed by a connectivity service platform in a communication network. The platform is enabled to communicate with a radio device via a wireless network connection of a first subscription of the radio device. The method comprises falling back to a second subscription, thereby enabling the connectivity service platform to communicate with the radio device via a wireless network connection of said second subscription of the radio device instead of the first subscription. The method also comprises receiving a request message from the radio device via the network connection of the first subscription. The method also comprises sending a reject message to the radio device, in response to the received request message and in view of the platform having fallen back to the second subscription. The reject message comprises a fall-back indication for instructing the radio device to fall back from the first subscription.

A method performed by a subscriber data storage node of a visiting communication network for handling a signalling request in a communication system comprising a home communication network and the visiting communication network. The signalling request originates from a communication device subscribing to the home communication network and having a home subscriber identification, ID, for communication in the home communication network. The communication device is registered to the visiting communication network with a local subscriber ID different from the home subscriber ID, the local subscriber ID being associated with the home subscriber ID. The method comprises receiving the signalling request originating from the communication device, the signalling request being associated with the local subscriber ID and identifying that the local subscriber ID is associated with the home subscriber ID. The method further comprises requesting a subscriber data from a subscriber data storage node of the home communication network, the request comprising the home subscriber ID, and receiving the subscriber data from the subscriber data storage node of the home communication network.

Methods and subscriber data storage nodes for handling signaling requests in a communication system

A method performed by a connectivity service platform in a communication network. The platform is enabled to communicate with a radio device via a wireless network connection of a first subscription of the radio device. The method comprises falling back to a second subscription, thereby enabling the connectivity service platform to communicate with the radio device via a wireless network connection of said second subscription of the radio device instead of the first subscription. The method also comprises receiving a request message from the radio device via the network connection of the first subscription. The method also comprises sending a reject message to the radio device, in response to the received request message and in view of the platform having fallen back to the second subscription. The reject message comprises a fall-back indication for instructing the radio device to fall back from the first subscription.

A subscriber identity is changed for a mobile terminal through an instruction being provided to the mobile terminal to detach from a first mobile communication system, to which the first mobile communication system the mobile terminal is attached using a first subscriber identity, where the instruction is also an instruction to change to a second subscriber identity associated with a second mobile communication system. The mobile terminal receives the instruction via the first mobile communication system, detach from the first mobile communication system attaches to the second mobile communication system using the second subscriber identity.

The signaling request originates from a communication device subscribing to the home communication network and having a home subscriber identification (ID). The communication device is registered to the visiting communication network with a local subscriber ID different from the home subscriber ID, the local subscriber ID being associated with the home subscriber ID. The method comprises receiving the signaling request originating from the communication device, the signaling request comprising the local subscriber ID, and detecting that the local subscriber ID is associated with the home subscriber ID. Methods, network control nodes and communication devices for routing signalling requests in a communication system

A method and arrangement for remotely controlling the communication of media between devices in different local networks () using a remote control device (). The remote control device obtains discovery information on a first device () and sends a remote access request over a multimedia service network to a home multimedia gateway () in the opposite local network () for a connection to a second device () therein. The home multimedia gateway then responds with communication parameters established for the second device in a residential gateway, and the remote control device can then order the first device to execute a multimedia session with the second device by using said communication parameters. This solution enables a remote control device visiting a local network to order a device in that network to fetch media content from a device in another home network, or vice versa.

Method and arrangement for remotely controlling multimedia communication across local networks

The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a connectivity service platform in a communication network. The method comprises storing a fall-back policy comprising information about a fall-back timer. The method also comprises sending a policy message comprising information about the fall-back policy to a radio device comprising an eUICC. The method also comprises determining that the radio device experiences a problem with a wireless network connection from a first subscription of the radio device with a first network operator. The method also comprises starting the fall-back timer in accordance with the stored fall-back policy in response to said determining The method also comprises falling back in accordance with the stored fall-back policy in response to the started fall-back timer having expired, thereby enabling the connectivity service platform to communicate with the radio device via a network connection from a second subscription of the radio device instead of from the first subscription.

Measurement based eUICC fall-back

The invention relates to a node for managing network connectivity of a device comprising an embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC). The node is configured to provision the eUICC for network connectivity of the device. The method comprises acquiring an identity of at least one Subscription Manager-Data Preparation (SM-DP) entity, acquiring an identity of at least one Subscription Manager-Secure Router (SM-SR) entity, creating an association between the identity of the at least one SM-DP entity, the identity of the at least one SM-SR entity and an identity of the eUICC, and storing the created association, wherein the stored association subsequently can be changed for the eUICC by changing at least one of the identity of the at least one SM-DP entity and the identity of the at least one SM-SR entity with which the eUICC is to be associated.

Managing network connectivity of a device comprising an embedded UICC

A connectivity service platform in a communication network manages changes to subscriptions for radio devices. When the connectivity service platform receives a subscription change message, it sends instructions to a radio device to change from the currently enabled subscription to a second subscription for its network connection. The connectivity service platform tests the second subscription network connection using a pre-defined testing procedure. More particularly, the test is performed uses a network connection from the second subscription to send and receive test messages to verify that the second subscription network connection has passed the testing. The first subscription is then disabled and the second subscription is enabled.

eUICC subscription change

The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a connectivity service platform () in a communication network (). The method comprises storing a fall-back policy. The method also comprises sending a policy message comprising information about the fall-back policy to a radio device () comprising an eUICC (). The method also comprises detecting an event relating to a first subscription of the radio device with a first network operator () for a wireless network connection. The method also comprises sending an event message comprising information about the detected event to the radio device via the wireless network connection of the first subscription. The method also comprises determining that the detected event implies that the radio device will lose the network connection of the first subscription. The method also comprises falling back in accordance with the stored fall-back policy, thereby enabling the connectivity service platform to communicate with the radio device via a network connection of a second subscription of the radio device instead of the first subscription.

Methods may be provided to operate a wireless device including memory with dummy subscription information stored therein. Such methods may include transmitting an attach request message over a radio interface to a mobile communication network, wherein the attach request message includes the dummy subscription information. After transmitting the attach request message, active subscription information for the mobile communication network may be received over the radio interface, wherein the active subscription information is different than the dummy subscription information. In addition, the active subscription information for the mobile communication network may be stored in memory.
