A device profiling computer system for determining and analyzing characteristics of devices used in payment transactions includes a processor, a device profiling database in communication with the processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The device profiling computer system is configured to receive a set of first transaction data associated with a first transaction initiated by a cardholder at an online merchant wherein the cardholder initiates the first transaction using a cardholder computing device and wherein the set of first transaction data includes a set of first device characteristic data related to the cardholder computing device, analyze the set of first transaction data to determine a set of device characteristics, and update a device record stored in a device profiling database with the set of first transaction data wherein the device record is associated with the set of device characteristics.

Systems and methods for determining and analyzing characteristics of devices used in payment transactions

A methodology for processing authorization request messages based on proximate wireless networks is disclosed. In particular, a computer may receive, from an access device or a communication device, an authorization request message in a transaction. The computer may then obtain network data based on a set of wireless networks that are proximate to the access device or the communication device interacting with the access device during the transaction. Next, the computer may determine a difference between the network data and previous network data, wherein the previous network data is based on one or more previous sets of wireless networks that were proximate to the access device or the communication device during one or more previous transactions. Responsive to determining that the difference exceeds threshold, the computer may initiate one or more actions associated with the transaction.

A method is disclosed. The method includes transmitting a verification request message comprising one or more personal data elements associated with a user and a target account identifier to an authorizing entity computer. The method includes receiving a verification response message comprising a verification result from the authorizing entity computer. Lastly, the method includes transmitting a credit transaction message comprising a source account identifier and an amount to the authorizing entity computer, which credits an account of the user with the amount.

Systems and methods are provided for authenticating a product over a payment network. A product identifier associated with a product to be authenticated may be included or appended to a conventional authorization request message or clearing message during processing of a payment transaction. The product identifier can be verified at a verification entity to determine whether the product is real or counterfeit. Authorization or settlement of the payment transaction can be approved/processed if the product is determined to be real. Authorization or settlement of the payment transaction can be declined/withheld if the product is determined to be counterfeit.

A apparatus and method is disclosed for optimizing authorization approval in a proposed payment card transaction. In one embodiment an issuing country of the cardholder issuing bank is identified together with a plurality of potential merchant acquiring banks that could be used to process an authorization request for the proposed payment card transaction. Using historical data regarding previous proposed payment card transactions, historical approval rates are identified for each of the identified potential merchant acquiring bank configurations. The merchant acquiring bank configuration with the highest historical approval rating is selected as the optimal merchant bank configuration for processing authorization approval. To improve the ranking of a given configuration, the apparatus and method may exclude from consideration transactions that do not include: the specific bank identifying number (BIN) on the payment card, the collection of BINs belonging to the cardholder issuing bank, and/or the at least one merchant category code associated with the merchant.

A computer-implemented method for detecting real estate vacancies using satellite imagery is described. The method is implemented using a computing device in communication with a memory. The method includes receiving, by the computing device, a first location identifier that identifies a first real property location. The method additionally includes retrieving, by the computing device, a first satellite image of the first real property location. Additionally, the method includes retrieving, by the computing device, a second satellite image of the first real property location. The method additionally includes generating, by the computing device, a compound image of the first real property location by overlaying the second satellite image over the first satellite image.
